It seems like we were just putting away our decorations and tearing down the tree for Christmas and here it is back around once again. With family and friends to shop for, it can be stressful enough trying to figure out if someone will like something. This can be make it or break it with anyone, especially children. There’s nothing worse than seeing a frown on a face of a child who doesn’t like or doesn’t understand why you purchased what you did. Below are a few toy items that are considered hot for the 2012 Holiday season.
Let me tell you, these 2012 Furbys not only have amazing colors like orange, teal or purple (among others), they blow the original Furbys right out of the water. Like with the original furby, these new ones respond to touch and sound and you feed them with your finger to their beak. What’s really awesome with the new ones is the app you can get for your iphones, ipads or ipod touch that has iOS 4.2 or higher. Considering that 6.0 just came out, for those on iphone 4, 4S or 5, you should have no problem with the app. However, don’t worry! If the child has no access to any of those devices, they are merely optional. The price can be a bit scary, anywhere above 50 dollars per toy and stock is going to be limited as it gets closer to December. These toys are in demand and just downright fun. All you need to do is find out someones favorite color.
Monster High Dolls & Accessories
While these dolls aren’t new, they have become increasingly popular over the last year. In fact, they’ve become so popular they have a clothing line of “ghoulishly ghoul” clothing that girls will love to wear. They emphasize on being like everyone else being “so out”. There have been a few new ghouls to the Monster High social scene. This year Venus McFlytrap, Rebecca Steam and Rochelle Goyle have been introduced along with the other favorite dolls like Frankie Stein, Clawdeen Wolf and Draculara. What’s really neat and I’m sure lots of girls would adore receiving is they can now play in an actual “Monster High School” Dollhouse. It’s a little costly, but, completes the whole ensemble for the girl who likes to be unique.
Nintendo Wii U
Yes, you read that right. Nintendo Wii U is coming out on November 18th and is definitely going to be one of the hottest items for most anyone this season. Now, don’t worry about all those wii games you purchased for the kids over the years. The Wii U is backwards compatible and you can use any of your old Wii controllers you desire. You can connect four remote controllers at once which is great for a family game night. Now, there is a downfall to the Wii U and it’s launch. Stores are going to be severely limited in supply and the cost is going to be rather steep. I’ve seen them listed online for pre-order for around $500.
Dream Lite Pillows
You’ve probably seen the commercials for these Pillow Pet Second Generation cuddly bedtime pillows. Well, while they may not look really cuddle-worthy, to the right child, they’ll ignore the plastic top and fall in love with the cute and adorable creatures these pets come in. They have a rainbow unicorn, a cuddly puppy and even a penguin. Now, while they look rather large in advertising, they are only 11″in reality so they don’t fully make for a pillow like the larger 18″ pillow pets. However, they light up the room pretty well depending on the size of the room obviously and will definitely ease any child to sleep that is afraid of the dark. These toys are available online or even in stores now. The only negative thing about these pets I’ve seen is the cost is kind of hefty for something that small.
No matter what you decide to get this season for children, hopefully these ideas will lead you down the path to a happy child, or at least give you a good start at what to look for in popular this year. Happy Shopping!
