Up to date on all of the latest trends in the beauty and fashion world? If so, you’ll defiantly want to try orange in your makeup application. According to Pantone – the world-renowned authority on color – the official color of 2012 is Tangerine Tango. This energized reddish-orange shade is just the thing you’ll need to take your style to the next level. As a winner in cosmetics due to its versatility, Tangerine Tango adds a sultry flair to the nails, cheeks, and lips – and compliments blue and green eyes. When paired with brown eyes, it brings out an amber glow. Try these fresh ways to use orange in your makeup.
Lips: You may have experience with orange lip shades, with hues such as melon, tea rose, coral, tangerine, mango, papaya, and pumpkin. If you prefer a pale or light orange, try a gloss, lip stain, or lip tint formula. Pair a pale orange lip shade with a dark smokey eye or heavy eye shadow. Bright orange shades can be applied from a potted lip color or lipstick. Pair bright orange lips with a fresh face or subtle lined eyes. If you want to experiment with dark orange lips, consider neutral eye makeup or light smokey eye. Try a matte or cream orange lip color with a pale eye.
Blush: If you’re not ready to jump on board with orange-tinted lips, try a slight burst of orange on your cheeks. During the spring and summer, the higher temperatures create a natural flush of the skin. Give your cheeks a hint of orange hue by selecting a peachy blush for fair skin tones. Deeper skin tones should stick with a warm mango-shade blush. Tangerine can also give darker skin tones a beautiful glow. On the cheeks, only a little bit of color is needed to make a big impact. Use a powder brush to swipe the cheeks with orange tones to control intensity.
Eyes: If you want orange sunset eyes, stick with pretty oranges and yellow hues. Try a sunset smokey eye using a sunny yellow for a highlight, tangerine on the lids, and a burnt orange to line the eyes for a bold effect. If you want to stick with a simple eye look, try a bright shade of papaya as eye shadow or line your upper and bottom lids with a vibrant yellow eyeliner. There is no need to go out and buy new orange eye shadows. Just use your finger to take a swipe of your orange lipstick and rub the cream on your lids to create instant creamy eye makeup. Your eyes will instantly pop when you incorporate orange into your makeup.
