In 2003, 50 Cent exploded onto the popular music scene with his album Get Rich or Die Tryin’. This of course wasn’t his first album since his Columbia effort called Power of the Dollar was shelved after the rapper was shot nine times. Before the success he enjoyed post-2003 50 put out several mixtapes with his G-Unit cohorts that absolutely dominated the streets. Once 50 broke down the door he was followed by Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, and Young Buck and the G-Unit group album Beg for Mercy. When putting together a list of the best songs by G-Unit I had to comb through a ton of material stemming from their early mixtape days to Beg for Mercy to Terminate on Site and beyond. Nowadays, Young Buck is no longer with G-Unit, Lloyd Banks is off doing his own thing, and Tony Yayo is still putting out music but he never had the following that the others seemed too. However, there was a time when G-Unit owned the rap game and I wanted to create a list of their top songs that reflects that. The following is a list of the 43 best G-Unit songs in my opinion and having listened to just about all of their material I feel that this is a pretty good jumping off point. Not everything is included here, nor could it be. However, I do also have lists of the best Lloyd Banks Songs and the Best of 50 Cent so anything that wasn’t included here should be found on their solo efforts.
