Independence Day is approaching. There are so many ways we can celebrate our freedom. For those of us who live around Dallas/Fort Worth here are a few of the fireworks displays planned.
Irving
It will be an all-day event. A parade at 9am will initiate your day of activities. The parade will be downtown starting at Sowers Road. The parade will be followed by a concert at Heritage Park, 217 Main St, and free watermelon.
At the intersection of Las Colinas Boulevard and Lake Carolyn Parkway the fun will continue with concession stands, inflatables, venders, water slides, and concerts. When night falls a low attitude fireworks display. Even though the fireworks will be low attitude it will not decease there grandeur.
The cost for parking is five dollars at the Irving Convention Center parking garage, 500 W. Las Colinas Blvd.

Lewisville
The Lewisville Freedom Fest is better than ever this year. Some of Lewisville’s finest restaurants will make an appearance. The Butcher’s Son, Easy Sliders, and Ruthie’s Rolling Cafe plus a few others are selling food from their famous trucks.
Fireworks will start about 9p.m. around dusk. At 2560 King Arthur Blvd., Village Shops and Plaza. There is no admission fee. Besides the fireworks display they plan on having a bounce house, music, interactive games, and other fun stuff for kids and adults alike.
Little Elm
Come help the folks of Little Elm celebrate their eighth annual fireworks display on the banks of Lewisville Lake. This festivity is family friendly and will be held in Little Elm Park. Coolers are welcome but no glass bottles, personal fireworks, or pets.
Parking will be limited but the Durham Bus Services will be providing shuttle service. The shuttle will run from 4:30 until after the fireworks. The shuttle will start from the LEISD Athletic Complex.
The celebration will start at 5 pm and end around 11 pm. The group 121 North will be providing music for the event. There will be venders selling food. Fireworks will be shot over the lake, intensifying there beauty.
