Best Places to Get Hot Dogs and Burgers in Las Vegas

by pop tug

Even though some of the best fine restaurants in the U.S. can be found in Las Vegas, sometimes you just want a burger or hot dog. Over the many years I have been traveling to Sin City, I have had hamburgers or hot dogs from almost every place you can imagine in the city. These are my favorite places to purchase burgers or hot dogs in Las Vegas.

Best Traditional Hot Dog

The best traditional hot dog in Vegas can be found at Nathan’s Famous at New York New York. There are two other locations around the city, but both are off of the Strip. If you are staying at New York New York, you might receive a buy-one-get-one-free coupon at the front desk. If not, check outside along the southern steps to the casino, as you should find at least one or two people passing out coupon sheets with Nathan’s coupons on them.

Best Non-Traditional Hot Dog

Outside of Planet Hollywood, you will find Pink’s Hot Dogs and will find the best location in the city to have a non-traditional hot dog. The open-air location allows you to put anything you could imagine outside of the kitchen sink on a hot dog. Bacon, guacamole, and coleslaw are just some of the many non-traditional toppings to be found here. With the amount of toppings available, you can make a meal out of one hot dog.

Best Traditional Burger

There are two locations to win this award. If you are looking for a fast food burger, you are going to have to go to one of the In-N-Out Burgers around the Strip. The wait is usually long during the day or early evening, but it will be one of the best fast food burgers you will ever eat. You will quickly find out why celebrities like Paris Hilton make this a regular stop.

If you are looking for a good burger inside of a restaurant, but do not want to get too fancy, try America at New York New York. The restaurant is just off of the casino and has an extensive menu of food you can eat in various parts of the country. The burgers are juicy and are as good with tons of toppings as they are with a spot of mustard and mayo.

Best Non-Traditional Burger

KGB (Kerry’s Gourmet Burgers) at Harrah’s is one of many gourmet burger places you can find in Las Vegas, but the prices do not break the bank. Some of the bigger gourmet burger places along the Strip will charge you upwards of $20 for a hamburger, but the prices at KGB are proportionate to the amount of food you get and are not as likely to cause sticker shock. You will realize your taste buds still remember a burger from here months down the road. They have made the choice of types of burgers a science.

There are dozens of places to purchase hot dogs and burgers in Las Vegas, but these are the locations you should place on your itinerary. These are four locations I attempt to hit on every trip to Sin City. Just thinking about them now makes me eager for my next trip to Nevada.
