Do you love a smoky, purple eye? I do; it’s one of my favorite looks of the season. It’s on trend, fun and playful, and a lot brighter than a traditional smoky eye, which makes it perfect to go from day to night. It’s easy to create a great purple, smoky eye when you have the right eye products. Here are my favorite products to create the perfect, purple smoky eye.
Save the Day Acne Concealer Stick. A little bit of concealer goes a long way to in creating a great eye look. Apply a tiny bit of concealer under your eyes and in the inner corner of your eyes to brighten the eye area. This will also help hide any veins or shadows, which will look worse when contrasted with the purple eye. $10, www.meetmark.com.
Please Hold Eye Primer from Meet Mark. Next, you’ll need to prime your eye lids. Meet Mark’s Please Hold Eye Primer creates a great base for your shadow. This primer is tinted, so it hides any veins, discolorations, or blemishes on your eye lid. It also creates a smooth base which will help your shadow adhere better. $8, www.meetmark.com.
Urban Decay Eye Shadow. Urban Decay eye shadows are densely pigmented, which means that a little bit goes a long way. For your purple eye, I recommend applying the shade, Polyester Bride, over your entire eye lid, and fade away up to the brow bone. Be careful not to use too much, just a hint of shimmer is great. Next, apply Grifter over the entire eye lid, ending in the crease. Use either Fishnet or Last Call as the accent color, apply from the outer corner of the eye and blending inward. Keep the colors darkest at the outside corner and lightest at the inner corner of the eye. Take a bit more of Polyester Bride to the inner corner of the eye if you need to brighten your eyes up even more. Keep all these shades handy in the new Urban Decay Pallet. $18, www.sephora.com
Sephora Nano Eyeliner in Glitter Black. If it’s the little things that count, than Sephora Nano eyeliners are no exception. These great little liners are perfect for at home or on the go. Line your eyes with glitter black, all the way around. Don’t forget to follow the shape of your eye, and flick the outside ends outward and upward for a bit of a cat-eyed look. $5, www.sephora.com.
Maybelline Volume Express The Falsies Black Waterproof Mascara. Always finish up with a great mascara, such as The Falsies. This is absolutely one of my favorite mascaras. It has volume and staying power. $7.49. www.cvs.com.
With a little practice and the right products, you’ll have your purple eye perfected.
