There are some wonderful farms in Morris County, New Jersey, that have a lot of fall fun and activities. There are many farms in the area that have vast pumpkin patches and orchards, as well. There are always a variety of activities at these pumpkin patches during this time of year. You will likely find hay rides, pony rides, corn mazes, and some of the best apple cider donuts in the state! The majority of these farms have low admission rates and offer a great way to spend time as a family in the great outdoors. Here is a look at some of the best places to find that perfect pumpkin to make into a Jack-O-Lantern.
Sun High Orchards
19 Canfield Ave, Randolph, NJ
Pumpkins are available pre-cut in a cute setting for young kids to find them. The pumpkins are weighed by the pound for pricing. There is a large variety of pumpkins to choose from.
Hours: Every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

122 Oakdale Road, Chester, NJ
This old-fashioned farm and orchard will give you two options: bring a saw and pre-cut. At the top of the apple orchard lies a large and well-endowed pumpkin patch. On one side, there are pumpkins aplenty. They are loose and need only be picked up and carried off. On the other side is a vast vine network of pumpkin plants that one must hike out and hunt for the best pumpkin. Bring something to cut the pumpkin with if you plant to pick it off the vine! Pumpkins are weighed to determine price. There is a small fee of $1 per person to enter the farm.

Alstede is more of the theme park pumpkin patch and orchard. Where the other two farms mentioned are really more old-fashioned, this one is very different. It is modern and has all the “extras.” There are large pumpkin patches with pre-cut pumpkins, as well as cut-your-own.
Hours: The country store is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day. The pick-your-own schedule varies. There is an extensive schedule on their website, as their picking days/times vary based on their harvest.
