“Next year” is finally here.

The NFL is making all of the headlines right now–the Saints’ bounty scandal fallout, more trouble for Brandon Marshall, Peyton Manning taking his talents to the Rocky Mountains, Tebowmania hitting the Big Apple, the Big Tuna possibly being the big fish in New Orleans, and debate over debate about whether the Colts will draft Andrew Luck at No. 1.

Thank goodness for baseball.

The Major League Baseball season begins with the Seattle Mariners and Oakland A’s meeting March 28 and 29 in Japan. The St. Louis Cardinals and Miami Marlins open 2012 here in the States on April 4, christening the Marlins’ fancy, new ballpark.
