Are you in need of a few butterfly themed invitation ideas for your child’s birthday party? If so, you may want to take a peek at a few of my suggestions. Here they are:
Butterfly Garden Seed Packet Invitations
Believe it or not, butterfly garden seed packets make a wonderful butterfly themed birthday party invitation. In order to create the invitation, you will need to purchase butterfly seed packets and shipping labels that match the dimensions of the seed packet.
Once you have your invitation supplies on hand, use your computer to create an invitation that will fit onto the shipping labels. Then print the labels out and affix them to the backs of the seed packets. That is all there is to it. I estimate that it will cost you less than a $1 to make each invitation.
Clothes Pins Butterfly Invitations
Why not create a butterfly invitation that can be clipped to each child’s jacket or book bag? In order to create one, you will need card stock, a bag of pinch style, wooden clothes pins and white glue. Based on my experience, you can even buy the clothes pins in assorted colors. I estimate that the clothes pins and card stock will cost you less than $5.
After you have assembled all your supplies into one place, use the card stock to create butterfly wings. The clothes pin will represent the butterfly’s body. Glue it in the center of the wings. Then write the party information onto the butterfly wings.
Faux Butterfly Invitations
You may also want to consider creating a butterfly themed invitation out of blank note cards and satin paper butterflies. In most instances, the satin paper butterflies may be purchased through specialty shops for less than $7. Blank note cards tend to sell for less than $11 a box (25 cards per box). I’d also suggest that you consider investing in a set of calligraphy pens and using them to handwrite the invitations. A set of calligraphy markers will typically lighten your wallet by $5.
3D Butterfly Note Cards
Speaking of note cards, you may want to consider purchasing a set of ready-made, 3D, butterfly note cards. In my opinion, they look wonderful and are fairly inexpensive. I have found the cards in specialty ships for less than $20 a box. Of course you could also opt to make your own 3D note cards. In order to make the 3D butterfly invitations, you will need to purchase origami paper ($6 for a pack of 100 sheets) in assorted colors, note cards and some glue. Once you have the supplies in front of you, create a series of butterflies in different sizes out of the origami paper. Then glue the origami butterflies onto the note cards in layers.
