University of Utah in Salt Lake City

Randall Turpin University Services Building.

Zion Canyon 8th Annual Earth Day Celebration in Springdale

April 21

Utah’s famed Zion National Park will be hosting a celebration with a live solar-powered music show and farmers market. Demonstrations on alternative energy, solar ovens, using sustainable products and more will take place throughout the day. Proceeds from the celebration will go toward converting all of the public facilities in Springdale to solar power.

“Most people don’t realize the impact green energy sources can make by simply using resources like solar power,” said James Atkin, a representative for Goal Zero, a Utah-based company specializing in solar power products. “Events like the Zion Canyon Earth Day celebration are essential to educating the public on how they can make a difference through solar power and other alternative energy resources.”
