Christmas is always full of its usual yearly traditions such as baking cut out bell sugar cookies or putting up the Christmas tree. How about adding a new tradition to the list with the help of a little technology?
The Christmas Wallpapers app is one of my all-time favorite holiday apps because of the many great depictions it has to offer. This app features an endless array of beautifully Christmas themed wallpapers. Whether you’d like to view its high quality images in HD or SD, the choice is all yours. Personally though, I’d go with the HD photos for optimal quality.
I had some fun the other night, looking through the different photos before I discovered my cute little snowman. When I stumbled upon his comfy green patterned scarf, his warm yellow hat, and his snug white ear muffs, my heart melted instantly. He’s got just about the rosiest pair of cheeks I’ve ever seen on a snowman. Now, that he’s become my own personal model, I see him strutting gracefully along my background wallpaper all day long and it’s putting me in a cheerful holiday mood.
Simply start your own journey by browsing through the different photos until you find the one that suits you and your holiday fantasies. For example, if you often daydream about catching beautiful sparkling white snowflakes with your tongue, save a picture of falling snow to either your iPod or your iPhone. Then, consider setting it as the background of your wallpaper. Any Grinch in your home will find it difficult to withstand the intrinsic beauty, joy, and peacefulness that’s felt through the display of such lovely depictions as these.
As I scrolled down the long, tedious list of Christmas apps on my fourth generation iPod touch screen, I tapped my feet to the rhythm of holiday music radiating from the radio station. Before long, I came across one app in particular that made my eyes pop quite unexpectedly. The name of the app was XMasRadio.
Eager to try it out for myself, I installed the app within minutes. First, I was impressed by the large number of radio stations they allow you to pick from. Considering there’s at least four dozen of them on there, you certainly won’t have any trouble finding one that you enjoy. Whether you’re into country music or you want to hear something with a little New Age feel to it, there’s a radio station for you and your whole family.
Even though I enjoy listening to just about all of the radio stations on the XMasRadio app, my favorite one is the new Christmas Radio Network station. It plays some of the more modern day Christmas songs such as “Last Christmas” by George Michael and “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey.
If you haven’t tried the Christmas Tree app yet, then you’re missing out on a ton of fun. With this app, you can decorate a Christmas tree virtually by sticking on a gingerbread man cookie, hanging a snowman ornament, or tossing some peppermint candy cane sticks on the tree.
Also, there are a few different types of stars you can choose from to place at the top of the tree. To finish off the look and feel of an actual Christmas tree, you’re then given some beautifully wrapped gifts that you can put under the tree.
Maybe you can’t afford a real life Christmas tree in your home right now or you simply can’t get enough of the holiday season. Whatever may be the case for you, the Christmas Tree is one app you won’t want to pass up. The concept is both brilliant and engaging while the app itself is surprisingly realistic and one heck of a treat.
Start a new tradition this year that will get you feeling warm and cheery all over. With the simple click of a button, who knew celebrating Christmas could be so much fun?
