Note: The opinions expressed here are my takes on the Chicago Bears’ key players during the 2012 fantasy football season. As always, use your best judgment and conduct your own research on who to start or bench each week. You know your individual team and/or league situation better than anyone else. All statistics and point totals are based on Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football standard scoring system.
Jay Cutler, QB
Cutler finished the week earning 20.36 fantasy points in a blowout win over the Tennessee Titans. This week he faces a Houston Texans’ defense that has given up an average of 14.26 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season. The Texans have been slipping in recent weeks giving up more fantasy points than they had earlier in the season. Regardless, this is still a very difficult matchup for Cutler. Look for around 13.00 fantasy points on the week.
Matt Forte, RB
Forte finished the week earning 20.80 fantasy points against the Titans. This week he faces a Texans’ defense that has allowed an average of 13.10 fantasy points per game to running backs this season. Forte certainly has a tough matchup this week but being the focal point of the Bears’ offense, his likelihood for success in increased. Look for around 15.00 fantasy points this week against Houston.
Brandon Marshall, WR
Marshall finished the week with a phenomenal performance earning 30.20 fantasy points against Tennessee. This week he faces a Houston defense that has given up an average of 19.66 fantasy points to wide receivers this season. Marshall is unlikely to have a huge game he had last week against a tough Texans’ defense but should be good for at least 11.00 fantasy points on the week.
Chicago finished the week earning 27.00 fantasy points against the Titans. This week they face a Texans’ team that has allowed an average of just 4.00 fantasy points per week to team defense. This matchup is about as tough as they come but there is also a reason why the Bears are the best fantasy defense in the league by leaps and bounds. Look for a lighter day of around 9.00 fantasy points this week.
