He turned his frown upside down. Brought to us by Soulmanna Live, David Choi serenaded fans for his Forever and Ever Asia Pacific Tour last summer held at the Music Museum. The opening act was graced by Ashley Gosiengfao as she sings some acoustic tunes that coupled together with David’s musical style. The venue gave off a cozy feel that just blows off all the bad vibes away, as the audience listens to modern ballads composed by the talented crooner himself.
David’s music is often described as something that would “melt any girl’s heart”. His songs are all about love and life, giving off the bitter truth while still covering it with his chocolate sweet vocals, heartwarming melody and comforting lyrics. During his tour, he sings his hit songs starting with “Underneath Your Love” that talks about being heads over heels your first love, “This and That is Life” that speaks of reality in an honest yet encouraging way, “Can’t Take This Away” a feel good song that just lifts up anyone’s mood, “Missing Piece” perfect for those who is still looking for their place and purpose in this world (something most of us can probably empathize with), “When You’re Single” for all those singles out there that’s ready to mingle, “You Were My Friend” to those who just grew up and grew apart, “Won’t Even Start” that talks about a summer fling put into a halt, “Lucky Guy” one that is all about how he wants the boy with the girl he likes to know how blessed he is to have her, “That Girl” with a chorus that says the exact opposite of how he feels , “Rollercoaster” a metaphor of someone’s perspective in life’s ups and downs, “By My Side” with lyrics that speaks about true love, and ended with “What a Wonderful World” by James Morrison as his encore song; something fitting for a person who is touring Asia and the US.
David was also surprised by his fans during his This and That is Life performance. They held up and waved his picture during the song’s chorus, something seen in his official music video. Their thoughtful act was repeated during his Missing Piece performance, where his picture was then replaced by a puzzle piece. As an exchange, David also had something special for his lovable fans. He gave off signed posters to those who can answer his questions first. One fan even got the gift of a lifetime, getting to hug from David on stage! He even took a video of his Filipino fans and eventually uploaded it to his Facebook page. The solemn night even got a dose of fun and humor as the internet sensation talks about his “Balut” experience. Fans comforted him by saying that the Filipino delicacy would make his knees stronger.
David just finished his Asia Tour and is now on his US tour collaborating with Clara C. With the use of Youtube he has gained mainstream success. And with talent to back him up, David may probably end up living “happily ever after” after all.
