Love is a fluffy pillow. They’re soft. They’re cozy. And no one can resist touching them. That’s why I’m always on the look out for a place to put one in my home. Here’s what you can do with a fluffy pillow.
• Bed and Sofa Accent Pillows
You only need one fluffy pillow to bring style and texture to your bed or sofa. That’s where a fluffy accent pillow shines. Whether you use a single square throw pillow in front of a big group of pillows on your bed or a small envelope pillow on the living room sofa – it’s guaranteed to be an inviting little number. Faux fur white pillows seem to be the easiest to find and they go with anything. But, any stuffed-fur pillow will make a perfect, soft accent.
• Furry Pillow Shams
If you want to bring more fur power into your bedroom, add a set of furry pillow shams. Find a color that coordinates with your bedding and you’ll have an instant conversation piece in the room. Everyone will want to touch it, hug it and hold it. But, set the ground rules up front – no sleeping or drooling on it, please.
• Shag and Chenille
Like an old shag rug or chenille bedspread, pillows can have character, too. Pick up a shag pillow in a bold accent color to make it pop in the room. It’s fun, fluffy and retro. Check out the flea markets and snag an old chenille bedspread. Then turn it into a pair of fluffy pillows to share – one for you and one for a loved one.
It may be on the higher end of the price scale for fluff – but, sheepskin is the ultimate cuddle material. And they are doubly special if you make long body pillows in natural sheepskin. It’s the perfect sleeping companion.
• Rag Flowers
Fluffy can take on another look when you use soft materials to make rag flower pillows. These delicate looking accessories go really well in a shabby chic bedroom. But, I have to admit, they’re probably not as comfortable to snuggle with it – they just look the part.
