The winter season brings about a great many holidays and seasonal gatherings with family and friends. To reflect the warmth and love for the upcoming holidays, decorating with beautiful holiday items sends that message of good will to all men and women!
However, bringing the Christmas cheer to one’s household can be pretty expensive, and many households are looking to save every penny. Therefore, why not start with decorations? Christmas ornament vases are a beautiful expression of the holiday, garnishing tables as centerpieces or as added embellishments for any room in your household. For just $5.00, you can make your very own ornament vase in under 5 minutes! I have also provided a video that demonstrates the process of creating the ornament vase.
The materials you will need are the following:
Candle-Stick Holder: This will serve as the base of the vase; thus, look for holders that will be stable enough to support up to half a pound of weight. You can take some unused holders in your household for this project or purchase them from Dollar Tree for $1.00.
Hurricane Vase: Dimensioned at approximately 5 inch diameter and 10 inches in height, the hurricane vase will serve as the holder for the ornament bulbs. This vase can be purchased at Dollar Tree for $1.00; Experimenting with different sizes and shapes of the vase is highly recommended and a great way to add variety and creativity to the set!
Ornaments: If you have ornaments that are no longer used for decorating the tree, consider using them for this ornament vase! I purchased two sets of ornaments for Dollar Tree that run at five big ornaments (four inch diameter) for $1.00 and twelve small ornaments (2 inch diameter) for $1.00. These ornaments display an array of designs and patterns and some are topped with glitter! Basically, you can purchase seventeen beautiful Christmas ornaments of different sizes and design for just $2.00!
Hot Glue Gun: A hot glue gun will be required to glue the candle-stick holder to the hurricane vase. As you begin this project, allow the glue to heat up and set aside.
Before glueing, be sure that the surfaces to be glued are wiped clean with glass cleaner. Once this is done, apply a layer of glue to the surface of the candle-stick holder, and quickly place the hurricane vase centered atop the rim of the candle-stick holder. If there are gaps between the two glass surfaces, apply a dab of hot glue to better seal the connection. Once finished, set aside the vase to cool and set for approximately 30-60 seconds.
You are now ready to decorate! Mix and match the two sizes of Christmas ornaments and place them inside the vase to achieve a desired arrangement. If you wish to add more decor to your vase, adding bows, jingle bells, and ribbons are just a few items that can really upgrade your vase!
Viola! In under 5 minutes and for just $5.00, you can make an Christmas ornament vase that is ready to be placed as a table centerpiece or decoration for any room in your household! This method can also be applied to different glass shapes and sizes, adding variety and glamour for a great low price! Spread holiday cheer with your hand-crafted ornament vase!
