Fibroids Caused by Hormone Imbalance

by pop tug

No sooner than I turned 30, a once difficult bout of PMS turned into a life threatening health issue. Throughout my life I had experienced painful and somewhat heavy periods, but it had never been determined that I had any kind of abnormal health concerns.

I maintained a healthy pregnancy, delivered a strong baby without complications (minus the epidural* debacle) and no red flags were ever raised during regular examinations. I figured that a few “exasperated” changes in my cycle were probably just a part of aging.

However, once exasperation turned to debilitation, I finally decided that something was truly wrong. My life went from a friend’s suggestion of looking into hormone imbalance, to a trip to the ER in need of a blood transfusion and myomectomy.

Ladies…don’t try this at home.

Ultimately, it turned out that I had a rather large fibroid. Excruciating periods accompanied by excessive and eventually, nonstop bleeding are not things that a level-headed, adult woman should have ignored – but I won the “ding dong” award for doing just that.

After looking into hormonal imbalance per my friend’s suggestions, it seemed as if I had symptoms of low progesterone. She suggested that I try a product called “Nature’s Precise, Natural Progesterone Cream” and I did. Stubbornly, I still wanted to avoid the doctor. Within a few short days of using the cream, my symptoms dramatically improved.

Symptoms of Low Progesterone

According to hormonehealthy.com, I had many symptoms associated with low progesterone:

  • Excessive Bleeding
  • Irregular Periods
  • Cracked Heels
  • Fatigue
  • Uterine Fibroid

Unfortunately for me, I found this vital information too late. Although my symptoms started to improve while using the cream, too much damage had already been done. The fibroid had grown too large because I had waited too long. Upon finally getting to my doctor, she advised me that I could have potentially avoided the fibroid had I had started using the progesterone cream sooner.

Post Surgery Use of Natural Progesterone

My doctor fully supported the use of natural progesterone cream. She suggested that I continue to use it as directed and if I experienced any irregularities. I have been using the cream as directed, for almost two years. My cycle is now more regular and hassle free than it was even prior to the fibroid and no new development has been identified.

Benefits of Natural Progesterone Cream

In addition to reducing the risk of fibroids and other irregularities, rebalancing hormones with natural progesterone can also help protect against:

  • Certain types of Cancers
  • Arthritis
  • Depression
  • Infertility

There are many factors that can contribute to hormonal imbalance; from environmental hazards to stress, it is easy to offset such a delicate balance – but not without consequence. Should you experience any of the referenced symptoms, ask your doctor about blood or saliva tests that check your hormone levels. Sometimes, the little things can go over looked and end up causing big problems.
