For many women, their closets and clothing say a lot about who they are. Some even see their clothing as sort of a status symbol. I have never been someone to follow trends, or to buy things because of how they make me appear to others. I like to buy things I like, and things that make me feel good about myself. Over the last year, I’ve begun shopping online for my clothes because I tend to find the best bargains that way. These are some of the ways shopping for clothes online saves me money.
Buy one and get one free offers
I have a few online companies that I shop with. One of those offers buy one and get one free deals all the time. Sometimes they even take it a step further by offering buy one and get multiple items free. This past winter, I was able to purchase two coats for less than $50. The first was discounted, and the second was free with the purchase of the first. If I would have paid full price, I would have spent well over $100 for the two. This is one bargain I like to brag about.
Large percentage off
I often sign up to receive email offers from the stores I frequent. I used to avoid doing this because I thought of it as spam; however, I’ve since learned that these emails can save me a ton of money. Most of the stores will send their email subscribers exclusive offers that can mean big savings. I often receive offers of 40-50% off of my highest price item. This means I can get anything they have to offer at a deep discount. My last big savings was on a pair of jeans. The jeans were already on sale. They were marked down from near $40 to just $20. With my 50% off offer, I was able to get them for just $10.
One of the biggest drawbacks about shopping online is the cost of shipping. The added cost of shipping can quickly turn a great deal into a mediocre deal. Fortunately, many places offer free shipping after you spend a certain amount. I have also found that most give random free shipping offers throughout the month. Of course this varies from site to site, but with a little smart planning you can almost always get a deal on shipping.
To take advantage of all of these great deals, I usually have a wish list saved for my favorite stores. This way, I already know what my favorite items are, and can take advantage of the deals as they come in.
