Galaxy Note – Phablet Beyond Compare
I have been using the Galaxy note for about six months now and even though I have used the iPhone 4s and HTC phones, I am sold on to this Phablet. Why? Most of my friends swear by the iPhone 4s and are pretty frustrated by my devotion to the Galaxy Note. In the following paragraphs, I shall bring out why that is the case:-
The Large Screen
Most people find the 5+ inch screen to be too big. Steve Jobbs said that 3.5 inch screen was the sweet spot in screen sizes. Well he was wrong on this count!. The note has this beautiful 5.3″ screen (AMOLED) and it is just superb – to read, to call, to watch movies, to take photos, browse the net and much more much more. Need I go on !!
I just cant go back to a smaller screen size.
Beautiful Form Factor
The note is 5+ inches, but it is so easy to hold and feels so good when you hold it, that you never want to let it go. I use it while exercising, while browsing, driving: In fact its so slim and beautifully engineered that its a treat to hold in your hand. I believe the Galaxy Note 2 is also in the same league. BTW, it easily fits into my pocket, no matter what any one says.
I agree that IOS 5 and now IOS 6 are great OSes. Apple has done an excellent job of integrating the Hardware and the Software. The iPhone works great, no doubt about that. It has a great screen and OS that exploits it but I still like android OS. It gives me so many options, has all the apps that you would ever want (after One hundred thousand apps, does it really matter) and the best part – most of them are free!
The note is a sufficiently expensive phone for Samsung to keep updating with newer Android versions.
The best part – Since I am a Linux fan, Android gets my juices flowing.
Turbo Charged Hardware
With a 1.5 Ghz processor, 32 GB memory and 32 Gb expandable memory, what more do you want? Screens fly w hen opened, the apps run as if on steroids (just imagine the performance of the new note 2, with a quad core processor). The battery life is great. I get over 24 hrs browsing, listening to music, watching movies and the list goes on.
Touch is fine, but when you want to draw or want some precision, fingers dont live up to the challenge. The S pen application is beautifully designed and with the S Note coming in , do you really need a book? I mean, the stuff I can do with an S Pen is amazing and believe me, I exploit it completely – from taking notes, drawing, mathematical formula and so on.
The Phablet is great. Its actually usable by all ages. The 5+ inch screen allows for large font sizes so people with a reading problem can easily see without their glasses. It display and hardware is good enough for gaming and kids just love it (mine definitely do). For office use, the S Pen is a great productivity tool. I have junked my diary and been able to do all my work on the phone.
The phone looks great, feels great and the bottom line – is great. Why waste going in for the second best or less expensive. This is one product that amply justifies it price and shall be your partner for many years to come..
