he evening became very special as we walked into the Capital Grille. We were invited to attend The Generous Pour Summer Wine Event, an amazing way to get to know nine, yes nine, of their world-class and limited-vintage varietals, hand-selected by a Master Sommelier.
I have attended many wine tastings and food pairings throughout the years but this one should be named the “King of Wine Pouring Events”!
You have the opportunity to attend your own Private Wine Pouring Dinner anytime until September 2. The Sommelier brings the bottles to your table and explains the qualities of each wine. It is so personal, such a perfect way to enjoy dinner especially with the Capital Grille’s superb lineup of fine wines and food menu.
You can choose certain wines or you can have the full flight of all nine.
Of course wine usually compliments the dinner yet when you taste wines like these there is a feeling of celebration and a wish to savor the evening. You do not have to be celebrating any occasion because this is the celebration.
Indulge yourself in the finest wines coupled with the finest food in the atmosphere of a fine dining classic steakhouse.
Brook Stanford, the Restaurant Manager, explained, “We are offering two whites, a sparkling Rose, five different reds and a dessert wine. With the purchase of an entrée, guests can participate in the generous pour which is $25 a person and you can drink as much as you like. Generally I find out what the guest is ordering for dinner and recommend certain wines to pair with whatever they choose.
We have a white wine exclusive to the Capital Grille. It is Rebula Wine, from Goriska, Slovenia, produced in an ancient way as they did 1,000 years ago.”
Our Lunetta Rose is a sparkling Rose from the foothills of the Italian Alps, in Trentino, Italy.
The Gary Farrell Chardonnay is from Carneros, in Sonoma.
As far as reds, we have a Villa Mt. Eden, Russian River Pinot Noir, Grand Reserve, our Master Sommelier George Miliote’s personal favorite.
There is the Cabernet blend with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc from Bordeaux, France by the 6th generation Constans family, known as the finest Bordeaux in 30 years.
The other Cabernet is blended with Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from Umbria, Italy.”
The Capital Grille is located inside the Las Vegas Boulevard section of the Fashion Show. www.capitalgrille.com
