Are you thinking about planning a ghost themed Halloween party this year? If so, I have a few ghost themed party favor ideas that I would like to share with you. Here they are:
Ghost Themed Drinkware
Personally, I like the idea of using ghost themed drinkware as party favors for three reasons. First, ghost themed drinkware tends to be inexpensive. Second, ghost themed drinkware is typically durable. Third, it works boo-tifully with the theme. If you have young children on your guest list, you may want to purchase molded ghost cups that are outfitted with lids and a straw. Oriental Trading and other party supply shops sell a dozen molded ghost cups for $16. Older kids and adults might prefer glow-in-the-dark cups that feature a ghostly face instead. A dozen glow-in-the-dark ghost cups typically sell for less than $7.
Plush Ghosts and Ghost LED Key Chains
Plush ghosts would also make spook-tacular party favors for the kids. Based on my experience, there are various types of plush ghosts available through party supply shops and specialty retailers. In most instances, a dozen plush ghosts will lighten your wallet by about $16. The older children and adults may prefer a ghostly key chain instead of a plush ghost. Party City sells a cute Ghost LED Key Chain for less than $3 each. Its eyes light up and it makes noises.
Ghostly Edibles
When it comes to ghost themed edibles, you could opt to purchase ready-made treats or make your own. Most major party supply shops and candy wholesalers sell items like ghost shaped pacifier suckers, dextrose candy ghosts, marshmallow ghosts and ghost lollipops for less than $10 a case. I like making my own ghostly treats because I can control what ingredients are used. There are plenty of confectionary shops that ghost shaped candy molds and cookie cutters for less than $3 each. You could also opt to make ghosts out of meringue, marzipan, cotton candy, homemade marshmallows and gum paste. If you have never made homemade marshmallow or meringue ghosts, there are several websites that offer detailed instructions on how to do it. The Betty Crocker website is one of them.
Ghostly Crafts
In my opinion, ghostly crafts would also certainly scare up a few smiles. There are many different types of ghost craft kits available through craft stores and party supply shops. One of my favorite is the Flowerpot Ghost Craft Kit. It consists of an upside-down flowerpot, a wooden knob, wooden cutouts and buttons. When the craft it complete, it makes an adorable little ornament that can be hung from a window or a ghost tree. The Flowerpot Ghost Craft Kit is available for purchase through Oriental Trading. A dozen Flowerpot Ghost Craft Kits will usually cost you less than $8. Other ghost craft options include ghost pins, ghost photo frames, ghost charm bracelets and ghost refrigerator magnets.
