As we have already approached the mid of December, it’s time to pack ourselves and welcome 2013 with a new approach. This time, I have decided to keep Sports as the target and prepared a list of my top ten Sports New Year resolutions, still not sure of the number that I’m really going to keep by the year’s end!
One: Make my pick
In the pool of choices available, it’s important to pick one and make it my passion. I would then have an answer when people would ask me for my favorite sport. I would strive to know about it, practice it and prove that I’m a player!
Two: Go crazy
I have always felt isolated while hearing folks talk about their sports-role-model. Posters occupying the room walls, mobile wallpapers, photo-collections — how jealous I have always been when my friends gossip about such stuff. Now, it’s my time to go crazy!
Three: Stay updated
What, when, where and why – I am now going to keep a track of everything. The newspaper’s sports section is not to be missed. Then it would not be so difficult to remember which team tops the list, which player has the best records, and accommodating all such statistics in my mind!
Four: The real experience
When you make up a plan to watch an interesting upcoming match live and book the tickets, the fun automatically doubles up! This is the most awaited event in my list! Planning, going, wearing my favorite player’s jersey, painting faces, carrying banners, cheering, craving for autographs – I’m already excited!
Five: Fit and fine
In the hustle and bustle of everyday chaos, I am not going to forget my own health! Staying healthy and fit is important than everything else! I got to make the best out of my college gym membership, without looking for any excuses to skip it for the day!
Six: Get subscribed
While not totally keeping aside my fashion weeklies, I’m going to subscribe to sport magazines, like the Sports Illustrated! If not pondering over every detail, I can at least have a look at the pictures!
Seven: Do not miss the movie
Movies that have plots dealing with a particular sport serve a dual purpose: Entertainment and thrill. Such movies are generally exciting and help in cheering the disappointed players! Talladega Nights and Bend it like Beckham are my all time favorites.
Eight: The true winter fun
The mysteries of winters are discovered in ice sports. While I have often planned out, it has not yet worked out. I have already promised my cousins to take them for ice-skating and ice-hockey the next winters!
Nine: Bowl and swim
While sports do not tend to fascinate me all the time, I’m usually inspired by bowling and swimming. Swimming is something, I believe, which one should know, at least to a certain extent. It may even save your life!
Ten: Fulfill the nine
My most prioritized resolution is this one – that I will try my best to keep all the nine resolutions! After all, it is not as easy as it seems!
