One of the most stylish color combinations is robin’s egg blue and deep brown. I do not care for brown alone, but when combined with one or two other hues, it is gorgeous. Brown is the new black in the world of decorating, and robin’s egg blue in combination with deep chocolate brown is as popular as ever. Accent the two hues with creamy beige, and use my creative ideas for wall decor, bedding and more.
I plan on updating my bedroom decorating scheme after moving into my new home, and the primary color will be robin’s egg blue. Burnt sienna will be the secondary color, and I will accent the hues with ivory. Although robin’s egg blue will be the predominant color in the bedroom, I will not completely saturate the space with the hue. Ivory will become the backdrop for my wall decor and bedroom furnishings.
Begin Decorating the Bedroom with Ivory Walls
When decorating a bedroom or any other room in a primary hue, do not overdo it. A bedroom can be beautifully decorated in robin’s egg blue without coating the walls with color. Consider decorating the bedroom walls in a rich shade of ivory. It is softer than white, and it will be a lovely neutral background for the furnishings, bedding, window treatments and decor.
Settle for Nothing Less than a Gorgeous Bedspread or Comforter
Comforters and bedspreads are quite expensive, especially higher quality varieties. Never settle for anything less than a gorgeous bedspread or comforter and bed skirt set. It sometimes takes a lot of shopping around to find the perfect choice, and the best one available at the time is not necessarily the best choice for decorating your bedroom. Search for a robin’s egg blue and deep brown bedspread or comforter, and do not buy one until absolutely certain of your choice. I made the mistake of settling on one because the store did not have a wide selection, and in the end it was a waste of money.
Add the Look of Luxury with Throw Pillows
It is amazing how several throw pillows can transform an ordinary bed into something exclusive and luxurious. After decorating the bed with an eye catching spread, top it with pillows that coordinate with the colors and design of the bedroom. Select throw pillows in varying textures and shapes. Since the bed is usually the third largest surface in a bedroom next to the floor and walls, a luxurious bedding set will make a spectacular impact.
Select Wall Decor in Robin’s Egg Blue
Just because a bedroom has been decorated in robin’s egg blue does not mean that birds must become a part of the decorating scheme. Robins are beautiful birds, and the color of their eggs are one of the most vibrant hues in nature, but many more options exist. Look for wall decor that coordinates with robin’s egg blue, brown and ivory, and select your preferred theme.
I have been searching for wall decor for my new bedroom, and I found one particular work of art that caught my eye. It is a contemporary metal wall sculpture depicting a beautiful blue sky and two trees, and I have not found anything quite as striking or unique. I have also considered blue butterfly wall sculptures or an oversized framed photo or painting of forget-me-not flowers. I am thrilled to be starting my decorating project with bare walls. Absolutely anything is possible.
