Ideas for the Perfect Christmas Table Setting

by pop tug

Do you need ideas for the perfect Christmas table setting? Holiday entertaining is so much more enjoyable when the table is set and stunning. It doesn’t have to be hard or expensive. It just takes a good idea and little bit of time. Let me show you how.

• Start with a Sensational Centerpiece

The quickest and easiest way to set a gorgeous Christmas table is to start with a sensational centerpiece. Your centerpiece doesn’t have to be expensive – it just needs to embody the Christmas spirit. It can be as simple a surrounding a tall pillar candle with a handful of candy canes – wrapped with a ribbon and bow. Use a candle you already own and hit the local dollar store for a box of candy canes and some ribbon. Your Christmas centerpiece can cost less than five dollars.

Here’s a quick and easy centerpiece for your table. Find a large serving bowl or tray and fill it with shiny Christmas balls you already own. That’s it – it’s that simple. Want to take it up a notch? Just tuck a little bit of greenery from your yard around the base of your display.

• Any Color Goes

When it comes to setting a Christmas table – any color goes. Yes, the traditional red and green is beautiful – but how about an all-white, blue or purple table setting? Think outside of the box. Set out your dishes, then cut out some snowflake drink coasters. Add a sprig of greenery with a colored bow tied around your napkins. Add a handmade pipe cleaner Christmas trees spray-painted to complement your color palette. You can put Christmas swag into any color scheme.

• Include a Little Gift

One you’ve outfitted the table with dishes and flatware, it’s time to dress them up with a little gift for your guests. Purchase tiny votive candles, decorate and personalize them with paint pens and set them at each place setting. A tiny potted Christmas plant can make an adorable gift. Or any handmade ornament on a plate will dress the table and bring a smile to the guest who receives it.

• Rustic and Casual Can Be Beautiful

If you want a rustic and casual look for your Christmas table, deck it out with a plaid flannel blanket instead of a tablecloth. Make charger plates from slices of wood from a tree trunk. Slice a few thicker pieces from the tree and set a candle on top with a little greenery and some bright red berries underneath for a natural centerpiece. Rustic and casual can be absolutely beautiful at Christmas time.
