Year after year, Philadelphia born rap goon Warchyld has been faithfully holding down the streets of Pennsylvania and the whole East Coast with back-to-back block-burning singles. Currently gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated mixtape, “The Streets Is Back,” Warchyld is gracing more magazine covers than your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper.
Hosted by the Drama King aka DJ Kay Slay and spearheaded by the hit singles, “The Honey Moon (ft. Slim of 112)” and “Straight Stuntin (ft. Jacki-O)”, which are in heavy rotation on radio nationwide, showcases that “The Streets Is Back” will be one of the hottest mixtapes released this year including official features with Slim of 112, Capone of CNN, Billy Danze of M.O.P., Jacki-O, Mistah F.A.B., and Rosco P. Coldchain.
With noteworthy features in major publications such as Hip Hop Weekly, TRUE Magazine, Mr. Dreamz Magazine, Coast 2 Coast Magazine, Yo! Raps and song placements on popular MTV shows (“Caged“, “The World According To Paris Hilton“) and famous Oxygen TV shows such as “America’s Next Top Model“, Warchyld is without a doubt a future superstar in the making already crossing the border to major commercial success.
Tell us about Warchyld and how you got your name?
My name comes from the streets of Philadelphia. Philly is a tough city growing up I felt like children in third world counties who face casualties of WAR often, from close friends shot and kidnapped to the 80’s error of drug wars.Thats were the name Warchyld comes from and if you ever been to Philly im sure you can understand!
How the music scene is in Philadelphia?
It’s tough like everywhere else right now. We now have more indie artist than ever and its a lot of dope artist in my city so the temperatures rising with pressure on who will make it to the top I call it survival of the fit!
Not to long ago you released “The Streets Is Back” With DJ Kay Slay, how do you feel about the project as a whole?
This mixtape is like my baby! It’s my first real release to show the world that I mean business and im playing for keeps! I love everything about the album and I hope the fans will to. I have been very fortunate to blessed with features from Jacki 0, Capone of CNN, Mistah F.A.B, Billy Danze of M.0.P, Slim of 112 and a rare feature with Roscoe P. Coldchain who is incarcerated for a double life sentence that alone makes this mixtape/street album the most special thing I have ever done.
You music has been placed in a few recognized reality shows, tell me more about this.
Showrunners Music is my publisher and they love my music. They have strong ties with MTV and 0xygen and thats how my music was placed on the Paris Hilton show, MTV’S Caged and Eva Marcille’s (Girl friend Confidential L.A) it brings me great exposure and great relationships with the major television networks.
What other projects do you have in the works?
I’m currently working on my album (The Honey Moon – Married to the game) and all I can say is that it will be fire! And as always im working on a few mixtapes with various Dj’s which will be soon announced.
Do you feel like you have a good chance at crossing over to mainstream?
It’s funny you asked, Yes I do… I have already been receiving major placements and I have been establishing great relationship’s in the industry I feel I have a 99% chance!
What artists are you listening to right now?
I listen to a lot of older music like Scarface, DMX, CNN,THE L0X, BIGGIE, PAC, GANG STAR, NAS, Bun B, M.0.P and a lot of others. I like classical HIP H0P! As you will see reflects in my music.
Who would you like to work with in the future?
I would love to work with Alicia Keys, Mary J Blige, DMX, Jada Kiss, Mariah Carey, Beanie Siegel and every artist in the industry really grinding!

Awww Man!!!! [Laughs] I remember I went to a club in Live 0ak, Florida and when we walked in the club it had dirt on the floor like a dirt road. I remember it like it was yesterday I had a fresh pair of Nike air’s on “all white” and I just remember being really mad and saying where they do that at [laughs].
