At the chic oceanfront Terranea Resort in Los Angeles, the Easter Bunny will deliver a basket of goodies to your child in your hotel room, spending 20 minutes of quality kid/bunny time before your little one goes to bed. Called “The Easter Bunny Tuck-In,” it will set you back $35 a basket. You even have your choice of male Easter Bunny or female “Ester Bunny” for the delivery. That’s just one of the more elaborate stunts Los Angeles-area resorts have up their sleeves at Easter, when brunches and egg hunts take on outrageous proportions with prices to match. Here is a sampling of some of the most extraordinary events.
The Langham Huntington Hotel
Pasadena, CA

The best hotel Easter egg hunts feature plenty of lawn on which the kiddies can roam, roll, and hunt. The stately Langham Huntington has all of that and more. Every child receives a basket for the hunt along with an assist from the Easter Bunny, who shows up to guide kids on their search. There is a petting zoo with goats, chickens, and bunnies and a 33-foot mechanical train ride. The hotel offers three brunch options, depending on your budget and appetite. A family-friendly Easter Brunch in the hotel ballroom features free-flowing champagne and lavish displays of seafood, imported cheeses, artisanal meats, sushi, and caviar, plus prime rib and leg of lamb. Brunch is $95 per person and $35 for children 4-12. The Terrace restaurant hosts an a la carte brunch and buffet with an omelet station, fruit, cereal, pastries, and breakfast meats, but no alcohol, for $45 per person. For those who gave up sweets before Easter and want to indulge their sweet tooth, there is a Chocolate Afternoon Tea in the Lobby Lounge. For $59 ($29.50 for children 4-12) you can enjoy teas, tea sandwiches, scones, and desserts containing varieties of chocolate. A chocolate fountain surrounded by chocolate sculptures is the focal point of the tea.
Trump National Golf Club Los Angeles
Rancho Palos Verdes, CA

Leave it to The Donald (Trump) to go all out at his spectacular public golf club with two restaurants overlooking the Pacific. Easter Sunday Brunch in the Trump Grand Ballroom features live music, children’s entertainment, an appearance by the Easter Bunny, and a huge egg hunt. There are four seatings throughout the day. An Easter experience with all of the trimmings in Trump land, about 30 minutes south of Los Angeles, will cost you $79.95 per adult and $30 for children under 12.
Terranea Resort
Rancho Palos Verdes, CA

Down the road from Trump National, bunnies, chicks, and sheep will run through the green lawns at the beautiful Terranea Resort. The petting zoo is open to brunch and resort guests only, as are activities like coloring eggs and making Easter cards and crafts. For an extra $20, your little one can stuff a “Build a Bunny.” As part of the brunch, your child can collect five prize-filled eggs in the meadow maze egg hunt. An indulgent brunch in the ballroom ($85 for adults and $40 for kids 5-10) will please the whole family with omelets, eggs, specialty pancakes, seafood, an Asian bar, a pasta bar, a sauté bar, plus a kids buffet and ice cream sundae bar. You will definitely need to walk the lovely paths and nearby beaches after that meal.
