The Fountains of Youth maybe closer then we think.
Have you ever wondered if there is a fountain of youth, and if so where is it? That would be the question on many people’s minds today. Well, as it happens the “Fountain of Youth” could be just around the around the corner.
Researchers have discovered a cell called the “Senescent cell”, which is what is believed to cause old age, and by removing the “bad cells”, we will stop aging. They aged mice with drugs and then stopped the process by removing the “Senescent cell”. So no more wrinkles, no more loss of muscle and no more loss of body fat. As great as this sounds, I can see some not so cool things ahead. If many people get this done, then social security will be extended, which will be “bad” for those who don’t have the procedure done, as an example. Is there really a better way to stop HIV?
Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome or the acronym we today know as “AIDS” maybe on its way to a breakthrough after years of people sending and receiving these life-killing diseases.
The drug known as “antiretroviral” or (ARVs) is the latest and perhaps the most important breakthrough in medical history to not only gets rid of, or at least put AIDS into remission, but also keep it from being transmitted to others. At this time it is only about a 96% recovery rate, but that’s still very good chance for those with HIV not to pass it on. zidbits.com
Black Holes Measured in the Universe
So we know there are black holes in the universe, what many of us may not know is how they are found or measured. Before they used what is called “standard candles” that help measure black holes out there in the center of galaxies.
However, as of late, Darach Watson and colleagues have found a more accurate way to determine the measurement of “Black Holes” by using super novae. They are now able to use light from active galactic nuclei for a longer period than before.
Are there More Earth type Planets beyond us?
Is there anyone out there? …is the big question for many of us. Well, we believe there are other life forms, yet I do not think I have met any. What NASA scientists have confirmed last year was there really is another “Earth-like Planet” that could possibly be lived on one day. They still need to look more into the planet itself, but what can be confirmed is it’s not too hot or cold and orbits around its own star. This is a very interesting break through for those who are into “what’s out there” in the universe. Of course, they have also stumbled upon a few more that need to be researched.
Can Quantum Computing be used for fewer error corrections?
Recent study shows that there may be a new topological error correction on the horizon. James D. Franson and colleagues may have found a way for fewer errors to accrue with computers.
“Scalable Quantum Computing” can be done if quantum bits are manipulated in a “fault-tolerant fashion.” Quantum computing has noise and small errors. This approach, based on topological techniques, could reduce the sensitivity to errors, and boost the prospects for building practical quantum computers.
For those of us who never heard of it before, a little insight into “Quantum Computing”. Quantum Computing is made up of atoms and molecules. In turn, the atoms and molecules will be used for memory and processor tasks, which will in turn have fewer errors. Fewer errors would mean a less likely chance of a memory dump or crashing, as an example. So over all this could be a very cool thing, but it could also end up being very small. www.howstuffworks.com
