The episode opens with Toya heading up to the mill with his delivery. He is of course unaware that he is being tailed by the agents. He sees that Balsa is not home, but does not feel safe with leaving the supplies he brought behind, so he decides to wait. (Meanwhile, the agents head off to double check and make sure that this is the right house by questioning the neighbors.)
Back in town, Shuga is heading back to the palace when he spies Chagum, who is buying sweets for himself. Shuga is completely and totally shocked to see the prince wandering about on his own. Meanwhile, the prince’s trajectory takes him to where Shuga has concealed himself. Shuga steps out hiding before Chagum can pass and calls out to him. Chagum is at first startled, then warily happy to see Shuga. Shuga however his horrified by the “state” Chagum is in. (That is to say, dressed like a peasant and looking very alert and otherwise healthy.)
Shuga attempts to get Chagum to go with him. Chagum is reluctant, but follows Shuga into an alley where Shuga tells Chagum that he has nothing to worry about and that it is safe for him to go home because he is not “tainted.” Balsa interrupts the conversation, calling Shuga “self-serving.” Shuga lies through his teeth, assuring Balsa she will be “rewarded” for her services, and telling her she is no longer needed. Balsa does not care about Shuga’s offer and states that she is not protecting Chagum for money, she is protecting him because his mother asked her to. She further states that the only one who can tell her that her contract is at an end is Chagum’s mother.
Shuga continues to argue that Balsa should back down, but Balsa states that Chagum must not go back to the palace. She also implies that there is something about the creature possessing Chagum that Shuga does no know. (She does not tell Shuga outright because they are still keeping the part about the Rarunga a secret from Chagum.) Shuga immediately asks what Balsa has uncovered, but she refuses to answer him, instead telling Chagum to come with her. Chagum obeys, and Shuga reveals to Chagum that his older brother is dead. This greatly upsets Chagum. Shuga then attempts to appeal to Balsa, telling her that Chagum not being at the palace will cause a great deal of political trouble.
Balsa really does not care. The conversation escalates, with Shuga attempting to appeal to Chagum. Chagum is extremely torn, especially when Shuga mentions that everyone at home is eagerly awaiting his return. Balsa however decides that the conversation is at an end, and hits Shuga in the stomach with the butt of her spear. Then she grabs Chagum and heads off, telling Chagum she’ll give him details on what is going on, on the road.
Back at the mill, Toya has gotten tired of waiting. He gets the door open, and goes inside. Meanwhile, the agents are approaching the house. The agents think that Toya has gone home after dropping off the supplies, so they go closer to mill to investigate. Toya sees them approach the house and is surprised to recognize the construction worker he had been doing deliveries for. He overhears them talking, and realizes he’s been played for a fool. There is very little he can do against to adult agents, so he remains hidden.
Meanwhile, Balsa and Chagum are heading out of town. Chagum looks extremely upset. Balsa meets with Tanda, and explains the situation. Balsa recommends that they head out for Toumi village immediately. Tanda asks about the supplies, but Balsa states that a three day journey will not be taxing, so they can leave the supplies behind. She also explains that Chagum has just heard his brother has died. She sends Tanda and Chagum on ahead to Torogai, and then heads back to the watermill, since she had left the map to Toumi village there.
Back at secret agent central, everyone decides to head out to the water mill, except for Jin. Jin is told to go find Shuga. Jin is extremely unhappy about this, but his commander tells him “too bad.” We get a brief glimpse of Shuga, who is attempting to get back to secret agent central. Toya manages to talk himself into trying to make a break for it, so he can warn Balsa. It is now evening, and he thinks he can make it. Unfortunately, he finds that the entire squad has arrived.
A lot of things happen at once in the next few minutes. We have Shuga meeting up with Jin, who explains that the other agents have located the place where Chagum had been living. We have Balsa rushing off to the watermill to get the map and we have Toya reenacting Home Alone Fantasy Epic Edition. In addition, we have Tanda doing what Tanda does best besides healing, which is worrying, and poor Chagum trudging along in a state of pure misery.
Toya decides to burn the entire mill in order to warn Balsa. (What Toya is apparently not thinking about is how the heck he is going to escape from a burning mill.) As everything goes up in flames, the agents realize that there is someone home and decide to investigate. As they approach, Toya barrels through the door, trying to put out the fire on his clothes. At the same time, Balsa is approaching the mill and sees that it is burning. She jumps into the nearest rice field and keeps running toward the mill.
Meanwhile, the commander of the agents questions Toya. Toya has no intention of answering the questions. The fire bells are now ringing and the villagers are heading toward the mill to put out the fire. The agents decide to retreat. There is some discussion about whether to bring Toya along for questioning, but guy who had been posing as a construction worker says that Toya most likely will not know anything anyway. The agents head off, leaving behind an extremely overwhelmed Toya.
We end with a montage of Tanda and Chagum, waiting for Torogai and Balsa, Shuga limping his way back to the inn, and Balsa running to the meeting place.
