When the rumors of a plot and possible war were hanging in the air at Neopets everyone started looking for ways to train their pets. You can hit the Mystery Island Training School but that takes time to train them plus the cost of Codestones. While you are not guaranteed to get a level up or any hit points for your pets by doing the Kitchen Quests, you never know what you are going to get. Like the Faerie Quests you have to look at the cost of the item / items needed and the possible benefit. I started keeping track of my Kitchen Quests to give you an idea of some of the items needed, possible benefits and when you need to just let the timer run out.
If you have a lot of items in your Safety Deposit Box chances are you might have a couple things for quests at the Mystery Island Kitchen but if you need to spend more than 10K for an item you are taking a huge gamble with the pay off. One thing that irks me slightly is that there’s no guarantee that any it points or levels are going to get added to your active pet. Sure, any help for a pet is good but if you don’t plan on heading to the Battledome then those small gains are a waste.

You are taking a risk when doing the kitchen quests, there’s no guarantee that you are going to get anything worthwhile. I did all of the quests within five minutes so it doesn’t seem that you are getting a better reward for completing them faster. If you have a lot of NP to burn or a SDB that is packed with food items then you can do up to ten of these quests a day. I’d rather get a faerie quest and be guaranteed something that is going to directly benefit my Neopet.
If you aren’t sure what some of the items cost check the Shop Wizard before you start buying the other items, if it seems too expensive then just let the clock run out on the quest. To see more recipes that have been released in the past, check out my article: Are Quests At Neopet’s Mystery Island Kitchen Worth Completing?
