Nicki Minaj seemed to have a fairly quick transition from underground rapper to pop star and judge on American Idol. She had only released three mixtapes before breaking out in 2010 with a number one album and hits such as Your Love. Her last mixtape “Beam Me Up Scotty”, was put out in 2009 to rave reviews by both critics and hip hop fans. Creating a list of Nicki Minaj’s best songs doesn’t give as much material to work with but even in such a short amount of time she has managed to release some very interesting tracks that rap and pop fans can certainly appreciate. Her two studio albums Pink Friday and Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded both sold over a million copies worldwide respectively and the first one was certified platinum. Beyond the success of Your Love, which sampled the Eurythmics, Nicki has also had a smash single entitled Super Bass as well as other hits such as Starships and Pound the Alarm. This quick rise to the upper echelon of the music industry has of course also garnered Nicki attention from other artists who have clamored to land Nicki for a guest appearance, people like Trey Songz, Justin Beiber, David Guetta, and of course Young Money’s own Lil Wayne. Yes, with Young Money’s backing and a roster including Wayne and Drake it seems that Nicki will be in the spotlight for a long while to come. The only question is will she stay close to music or branch out further into other forms of entertainment. With all of that in mind here is my list of the top 28 Nicki Minaj songs thus far in her career.

The preceding 28 songs are what I consider to be the best of Nicki Minaj and would be a great starting point for anyone just getting into her music or wanting to see what all the hype is about. Agree or disagree, the list can always change over time as Nicki matures as an artist and produces more hits.
