Nutella Frangelico Cocoa Cupcakes, an Original Recipe

by pop tug

Nutella is heaven in a container and one of the key ingredients in this cupcake recipe. What is Nutella? It is simply a decadent chocolate hazelnut spread manufactured in Italy. Although not everyone is a fan of this popular nut spread, I can guarantee that you will love these cupcakes.

Recently, I had the opportunity to create an amazing cupcake recipe using Nutella. After I created these, I went online to see if anyone used the same ingredients as myself. I searched via Yahoo! as well as Google to see if I could discover that at least one person would have thought of using Nutella with Frangelico liqueur and cocoa. Guess what? No one did.

Many people on the internet love charging money for recipes, but today I am going to share with you how to make the Nutella Frangelico Cocoa cupcakes for free. Are you ready? Let’s get started!

First and foremost, before even attempting to make these cupcakes, you are going to need the following ingredients.

3 eggs
1 cup Nutella
1 cup Silk’s dark chocolate almond milk
1/2 cup cocoa (unsweetened, I used Hershey’s)
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup Frangelico liqueur
1/4 cup hazelnuts, chopped
1/4 cup pecans, chopped
1/4 cup walnuts, chopped
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon Godiva chocolate liqueur
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions
Combine the eggs, Nutella, dark chocolate almond milk, cocoa, vegetable oil, Frangelico liqueur, hazelnuts, pecans, walnuts, baking soda, chocolate liqueur, baking powder, vanilla extract, and salt into a mixing bowl. Mix generously. I would recommend that you use at least a 4- to 5-quart mixer when making these cupcakes.

Once mixed, add the batter to the cupcake cups. Fill each cupcake cup 3/4 way. If you go higher, it will overflow and not look right.

Preheat oven for 350 degrees Fahrenheit and bake the cupcakes anywhere from 20-23 minutes. After baking, let the cupcakes set for about 5 minutes. Remove the cupcakes from the pan and place the cupcakes on a plate. Do not remove the actual cupcake cups.

The frosting for these cupcakes is relatively simple, but can get tricky if you add the wrong amount of ingredients, so make sure that you are very careful when measuring.

Frosting Ingredients
2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup butter
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon Godiva white chocolate liqueur
pecans, optional

Combine the powdered sugar, cream cheese, butter, vanilla extract, and white chocolate liqueur into a mixing bowl. Mix generously. Once mixed, apply to cupcakes.

Garnishing is optional and entirely up to you. For this particular cupcake recipe, I decided to garnish with a whole or half of pecan. Then, add some light colored pastel yellow sugar sprinkles.

You’re done! Now serve to your friends and family. Make sure that you do try one yourself first because once they are gone, they are gone.
