Contrary to popular belief, summertime in NYC is one of the best times to visit. You’re feeling hot, you’re looking hot, and you’re in a city with spectacular views. You can’t turn a corner without running into somewhere to have a great drink or a fulfilling meal. You can bring someone gorgeous with you or meet a new dance partner here.
So what if you’d like to combine all of those exciting factors with a world class rooftop experience? Whether you’re a tourist or a local, the Big Apple offers outstanding places to party on top of the world. As your personal date night concierge, I can recommend several spots for a guaranteed sexy time.
Rooftop Dining and Drinks in New York City
230 Fifth Avenue
If you’d like an unencumbered view of the Empire State Building, this is your place. 230 Fifth Avenue is a hot spot for delicious meals and over the top nightlife. The rooftop garden gives the feel of a tropical paradise. You can book your own private party or bring friends and family along on the weekends for brunch.
The address is built into the name. Find them at 230 Fifth Avenue in Midtown West between 26th and 27th Streets. Please note that this is one of the more pricey sky patios in town. Give them a ring at (212) 725-4300.
Top of the Strand
Sometimes you want the feeling of privacy in the big city. That’s when you head over to the Strand Hotel’s rooftop lounge. This intimate space makes you feel like you own a rooftop backyard. The service is impeccable and so is the food. Music aficionados take note! There’s even a DJ. Top of the Strand is perfect for a sensual and clandestine rendezvous.
Top of the Strand is at 33 West 37th Street, 21st floor in Midtown West. You will also enjoy the feeling of being able to touch the Empire State Building. Call them for a reservation: (212) 448-1024.
Vu Rooftop Bar
If Top of the Strand is like an elegant backyard, Vu Bar is like a beach bingo spot. This is one of the more casual rooftop spots in Manhattan. However, it’s tons of fun if you bring your crowd with you; especially for their generous daily happy hour. Come here for the music not the view.
Find the Vu at 17 W 32nd Street on the 14th floor. Their cross streets are Broadway and 5th Avenue. The hotspot is smack dab in the middle of Koreatown. For more information call: (212) 991-8842.
