Pop Tug

One of the Best Rated Skate Parks in Colorado!

by pop tug

Memorial Skate Park was made in the fall of 2008 in Colorado Springs, CO. and has a lot of kids and adults using it from what I have seen while with my kids at the skate park or passing by. This skate park attracts scooters, bikers and skate boarders alike and has enough objects for them to use and practice. To get a better idea of what makes Memorial Skate Park one of the best, I went to the park and spoke with some of the regulars at Memorial Skate Park.

I spoke with Zack age 13 who is a skateboarder, when asked what he thought of this skate park, said: I like the street course and I would like to see them put a dome around the skate park, to keep them warm in the wintertime. Next was Selena age 11 is a skate boarder, and scooter user. She loves the bowls and drops, and gets great speed in the bowls. She is out there riding the rails or the drops, just like the boys.

I also spoke with Mike age 20, who comes to the skate park not only to shape his skills, but in one day of hopes of being noticed like “Nyjah Houston” was once upon a time. Mike has been skate boarding for 10 years now and I say good luck to you.

I like the skate park and take my kids whenever I have the chance. I personal do not skate board but they skate board and roller blade. All kinds of skate boarders, bikes, scooters and roller bladders use the park daily. There are beginners like my kids and every advance skate boarders.

There are two styles of courses currently at Memorial Park and over all work for many of them, who go there all the time because, of what is offered. They have both the street course and the vert course. Vert courses have bowls, which are a big hit with many of the children who practice at the Memorial Skate Park.

The street course has many different size ramps that the kids really enjoy doing tricks and rolling down. My kids are beginners and I think by hanging out down there, they get ideas and help with learning how to skate board. Majority of the children who skate there are regulars and I think they start to come together as a friends teaching and learning from one another.

I was informed by one of the kids I interviewed that they were “Finally going to build a 15Ft. Vert Ramp”. When asked how they came by that information, I was told the skate stores have been kindly informing their customers.

Many skate parks only have a little to do for skate boarders, and Memorial Park gives them a much better choice of options, including the street course, that many do not offer and it has bigger ramps and the only one with bowls.
