I’ve been around for many years and I thought I’d heard and read a lot of things in my life but this article I ran across on the Huffington Post.Com Internet Site, http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/06/28/woman-gets-super-glued-to_n_1633026.html?… turned out to be a real surprise to me. What I’m about to relay to you readers is a situation I would have hated to have been involved in and I’m sure it was an embarrassing situation for the lady it actually happened to.
A lady shopping at a Wal-Mart Store in Monticello, Kentucky needed to make a restroom stop, not giving it any thoughts she plopped down on the toilet seat without looking and when she tried to get up she was stuck for 60 minutes before she got any help.
I must confess I’ve run into a restroom without giving too much thought to it either and this could have happened to me too. One of the worse things that has ever happened to me is someone had put something filthy in the toilet paper holder and I got it all over my hands. I gagged for hours, and I must say, “I was extremely sick at my stomach for hours and every time I go into a restroom I think about it.”
This taught me a lesson and I now tread cautiously when I visit a restroom “anywhere” because a disgusting thing like I endured is hard to ever forget.
In this lady’s case someone had lined the toilet seat with super glue and when she sat down, she was instantly glued to the seat. A person heard screaming coming out of a toilet stall and paramedics was called to the scene of the incident. It took paramedics an hour to remove the lady from the toilet seat which was “still” attached to her buttocks. This is what is unbelievable; the lady had to be transported to the emergency room of a hospital where the seat had to be removed from her posterior. I cannot conceive the total humiliation and embarrassment this lady went through.
Police officials suspect the gluing may have been on purpose, but they do not want to accuse anyone until they are positive about the super gluing incident. According to this article, this isn’t the first time this type of thing was done at a Wal-Mart; it has also happened in Maryland to a man too. Did you know putting super glue on a toilet seat is considered a crime? Lt. Matthew Donnelly of the Elkton Police Department in Kentucky told the newspaper a perpetrator of such an offense could face second-degree assault charges.
This also reminds me of something that happened to a friend of mine years ago when outhouses were popular. It was a Halloween night and the friend made a visit to the outhouse unbeknown he was being watched. While he was in the outhouse, a bunch of Halloween tricksters shoved over the outhouse; needless to say, my friend came out frightened to death, with minor injuries, and a terrible mess too.
In my opinion people should think about the consequences of hurting someone seriously and for the humiliation and embarrassment a person endures because of the stupidity of what a person thinks is a joke.
To those people who do these sorts of things and believe they’re funny, “What if this was your wife/husband, mother, child, or a close friend; would you want it to happen to them?”
