1. Jerry Sandusky scandal. Everyone was surprised by the scandal at Penn state. They had an investigation in 2008 about the raping with so many children he had. The kids were through the ages of 8-12. Joe Paterno was the person who knew about the raping, and he even saw when in the shower. The rapping happen in 1998.
2. Lebron James wins his first NBA championship. Everyone was surprised when he beat the OKC Thunder in a five-game series. He gained a lot of respect in the postseason last year. He lost some when he wanted to South Beach and left Cleveland. But then he got it back.
3.NY Giants beat the New England Patriots for the 2nd time at the super bowl. I think everyone thought that it would be different this year, but it wasn’t. Eli Manning was the super bowl MVP for the 2nd time in his career.
4. Dwight Howard leaves Orlando and goes to LA. Doesn’t that remind you of a person named Shaquille O Neal. I think everyone was surprised when he went to LA instead of Brooklyn. However, the Nets want out of the trade anyway because the Orlando Magic took long to make a deal with Brooklyn.
5. Steve Nash goes to LA. The reason he is on this list because everyone he thought he would go to New York or Toronto. At the same time, now they might have a better team in Nash, Howard, and Bryant. However, it not looking so good for them now.
6. Andrew Bynum is traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. This traded happen because of Dwight Howard want to go to LA. So traded sent André Iguodala to Denver and Byum to Philly. So I was really surprised when this traded happen with Bynum and Iguodala.
7. Lebron James wins his 3rd MVP award. The battle between who should get the MVP was Kevin Durant or Lebron James. We all know who won that battle Lebron this award was good, but he said this was not the goal. He wanted that a championship, and he got it.
8. Arron Rogers wins the AP NFL MVP. I think I was a good season because first he wins the super bowl, and then the next year becomes the MVP. He is the only player to throw over for 4,000 yards in each of the original two seasons as the starring QB.
9. San Francisco Giants sweep the Detroit Tigers. Everyone thought it would be a six game series or seven-game series. However, it was a shocker to everyone. They become the World series champions in 2012.
10. Kobe Bryant becomes the 5th player to score 30,000 points. He was playing against the New Orleans Hornets on December 5. He joined Karl Malone, Michael Jordan, Karrem Abdul Jabber, and Wilt Chamberlain. “Penn State Child Sex Abuse Scandal.” Wikipedia . Wikimedia Foundation, 12 July 2012. Web. 09 Dec. 2012. .
