Six Reasons to Watch “True Blood”

by pop tug

If you’re not watching HBO’s super hot, supernatural series, why not? “True Blood” is a lot of fun. Here are some reasons why I think you should tune in now! (But first you may want to hit HBO GO online and catch up on the seasons you missed!)

Hot, Hot, Hot!

The men, the women, the sex, the Louisiana weather! It’s all hot,all the time. Catch stars like Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgard, Deborah Ann Woll and my personal favorite werewolf, Joe Manganiello in sexy storylines and compromising positions. There’s something for male and female viewers on this show.

Ha!

The show is very funny, which some people don’t know. There are fabulous one-liners and zingers every week, mostly by two of my favorite characters, Pam and Jason. The show is the perfect combination of serious and hilarious and it all serves to keep viewers completely and totally entertained. Check it out and you’ll see what all those Facebook statuses that your friends post are about every Sunday night after a new episode airs.

It’s Otherworldly

So maybe you’re too old for “Twilight” but you still love the supernatural. Get your vampire, werewolf and fairy fix on this show that’s all grown up but still offers all the cool elements you like. There are witches, maenads and shape shifters, oh my!

You’re A Charlaine Harris Fan

If you’ve read the books, there’s no reason not to tune in. At first, I was scared to watch, too. I’ve been reading Harris’s “Southern Vampire” series (the series of books the show is loosely based on) since she started writing them, so naturally I was worried that the show wouldn’t be anything like the novels.

Well, it’s not, but I’m still a fan. I just think of the show and the books as two different entities, which makes it a lot easier to handle when things that don’t happen in the books happen in the show (or vice versa.)

Amazing Characters!

You’ll get totally wrapped up in Sookie’s life, along with her brother Jason, best friend Tara and the love triangle she’s been involved in (it’s hard when two hot vampires are vying for your affection…sigh.) You’ll be anxiously awaiting every new episode. There’s a reason why the time the show is on hiatus is affectionately dubbed “Waiting Sucks” by the network and the show’s “Truebies” (fans.)

Hot!

Oh wait, I think I already mentioned that. If you don’t mind seeing gorgeous men and women weekly, and sometimes less than clothed, or turning into werewolves, then this show is a must see. It may even be something you start to look forward to, DVR, and watch, and re-watch!
