For me, the holiday season inspires an outburst of creativity that for some reason, remains largely dormant throughout the rest of the year. So, what is it about Christmas that inspires this lovely but unusual change? The answer is candy canes, ribbons, and stars.
Candy Cane Design
I tried the candy cane design on my toenails this year and was very impressed by the end results. Other than the fact that it looks incredibly darling and delicious, other people are most likely unable to detect any minor flaws or mistakes that may have surfaced throughout the procedure.
To create the candy cane design, you’ll need a few basic tools. These include a quick dry base coat, a sparkling Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Color polish in red, Sally Hansen’s white nail art pen, and finally, a clear nail polish.
As with any nail design you do, you’ll first want to add on a base coat to your nails. Once you’ve allowed this to dry for about ten or fifteen minutes, you can then brush on the red nail polish. Allow it to dry for at least an hour before getting out your nail art pen.
With the pen, carefully draw two white diagonal stripes on either your fingernails or your toenails. For either the thumb or the big toe, add on another or a third stripe to make up for the extra space.
Once dry, finish the look off with a clear nail polish that will add a bit of shine and better preserve your design for a longer period of time.
Red Ribbon Stripes Design
For this look, you’ll need a few of the previous items already mentioned here as well as some new ones. Start by brushing on the base coat and once dry, apply Sally Hansen’s Hard As Nails Ivy League nail polish to each of your nails. Allow sufficient time for drying before moving on to the next step.
Now, get out your nail art pen in the color red and draw three very thick diagonal lines on each nail. For the thumb or the big toe, you may wish to add a fourth line.
Once dry, brush on a layer of clear nail polish. Now you’re finished.
Silver Star Design
As always, start by brushing on a clear base coat before beginning the design. Once dry, apply Sally Hansen’s Diamond Strength nail polish in Forever Lilac.
Once that’s dry, get out your nail art pen in silver and then carefully, draw a star on each one of your nails. After you’ve done this and allowed for sufficient drying time, apply the clear and final nail polish to your nails.
Look your best with the help of these few simple nail designs and make people notice you at your next Christmas party. You’ll be surprised by how well it makes you stand out to others!
