Have you ever played a game that was so fun you would try to put down the controller or your Iphone and just couldn’t. Because that tiny voice in the back of your mind was telling you ” just one more game, or all I have to do is get to the next level and beat this boss” I’ve had days when I would play a game and lose hours of time.
Here are 10 addicting games that will have you losing hours of your day in no time….
1. Angry Birds (ROVIO)
An Ipod/Iphone game about birds who get there revenge on pigs who stole their eggs…by having you launch them in the air and watching land on objects to kill the pigs below. (A silly game, but addictive.)
2. World of Warcraft (BLIZZARD)
This game will take hours out of your lifespan just by the sheer content alone. This fantasy MMORPG takes place after the very popular strategic games Warcrafts 1 through 3, but instead of controlling hordes, you play a single member from one of two rivalry factions who will kill the other on sight. With tons of quests, dungeons and raids to go on, there’s no wonder why so many have missed days out of their lives playing this game.
3. Star Wars: The Old Republic (BIOWARE)
This Sci Fi MMORPG is based off the very popular movies and more recent video games, The Old Republic takes it’s swing at online stardom. Once again playing as a creatable character from two rivalry factions, you get to explore the galaxy as a Jedi or other sort of class from the republic, or seek to control it as a member of the much feared Sith Empire
4. Left 4 Dead (VALVE)
Left 4 Dead is about four survivors making their way through a world filled with “the Infected,” better known as zombies. The whole point to this game is to work together to survive four levels of infected puking, pouncing, grabbing and trying to crush you to death. (A good game to play with the lights off)
Blending a perfect mixture of First Person Shooting and RPG elements is an achievement Gearbox picked up releasing this gem. Set on the distant planet of Pandora, you play as one of four playable characters, each with different specialties to use to take out bandits or anything else that stands in their way.
6. Sonic The Hedgehog (SEGA)
A game that stands the test of time, Sonic is a blue hedgehog with really fast shoes, collects rings to not die immediately, and fights an overweight scientist who seeks to capture all of Sonics’ furry woodland creatures in creepy robots. Oh and depending what game you play, you have friends who’s a fox that can use his two tails for flight, and this red thing Sega passes as an echidna. Not many people know what an echidna is…
7. Portal (VALVE)
Physics be damned!!! That’s what you’ll be screaming by picking up this addictive game in which your only weapon is a portal gun. You will have to solve puzzles while a cynical murderous computer watches and tries to deter you from your ultimate prize… Cake! (I am not kidding…)
8. Halo (BUNGIE/MICROSOFT)
A first-person shooter, that takes place in a far away part of the universe. The game lets you play as a supped up space marine that save the universe from an alien race called the Covenant. Players can take on the alien Covenant themselves, or play with friends on Xbox live. (Which is a lot fun)
9. Call of Duty MW3 (INFINITY WARD)
Call of Duty… what’s there to say? There are guns, there’s kill streaks, there’s more guns… Most people buy the Modern Warfare series not for the storyline, but for the multiplayer. With a huge foul mouthed, competitive community and the several multiplayer modes, and of course nuking your competition when the need arises.
10. Dead Island (DEEP SLIVER)
Zombies, zombies, and more zombies!!!!!! Mixing the RPG leveling system of Borderlands, and the zombie bashing of Left 4 Dead comes this tropical paradise that’s anything but relaxing. As one of 4 survivors, you are victim to a zombie outbreak on a tropical island in the middle of nowhere to hunt for quests, kill zombies, and become a little less killable.
