The Many Faces of Bubble Shooter Games

by pop tug

Bubble shooter games are once again appearing on various Flash game websites. Perhaps one of the reasons why these games are making a huge comeback is that classics never go out of style.

I was six when I played my first bubble shooting game. Fourteen years later, I can still spend a good portion of my time playing Puzzle Bobble on arcade. The good news is that you can play these games for free on many websites. This is helpful for kids and kids-at-heart who do not have enough time to go to the nearest arcade house to play. Bubble shooting games found online can also help you save cash because you do not have to spend tokens just to play (something that I wish happened when I was six and broke).

Some features of the new versions

The new versions of these games are interesting and more action packed. While the previous versions only feature many layers of bubbles that go lower as you take more time to pop them, the newer versions have more variety.

First, we can see a variety in the shapes and formations in the new games. Although the usual layers of bubbles are not totally gone, there are games where they are placed in formations of hexagons and other geometric shapes. In addition to that, the player is also taken to numerous situations and locations that may seem unlikely a place to pop some bubbles, such as space, a cave, or underwater. I did not know you can pop some bubbles in space, but yes, that’s how some games go.

Woobies, which lets the player fling bubbles made of cute furry balls with eyes, is an adorable version of this type of game. I know younger kids who love this game, but it’s mainly because of the graphics and the special sound effects. There are no real challenges when it comes to game play, so if you are expecting some complicated things to happen in the later portions, you might get disappointed.

For those who cannot stand the cuteness of furry balls, maybe you can try games like Greemlins Kamikaze. The graphics of this game is a little darker than the previous one and may be more of your style. If you want a more action-packed game play, check out Jungle Blocks that features a different approach to destroying bubbles or blocks made of animals. Unlike usual games that come in levels, this game features descending blocks of animal heads which you have to eliminate. When you reach a specific score, you get to level up and have more special powers to destroy the blocks. Don’t worry, this game is both kid and animal friendly, so do not expect any blood or gore.

With the rise of tablets and smartphones that are compatible with these types of games, bubble shooting is now another good way to have fun anywhere. You can also play bubble shooter at sites that feature only this type of game. And unlike bubbles, these are definitely here to stay for a longer period of time.
