The Many Roles of Robert Pattinson: Movies You May Have Missed

by pop tug

Brought to fame thanks to his role as the sexy and mysterious vampire, Edward Cullen, Robert Pattinson has won the hearts of young girls across the world. The out of control hair, perfect skin and deep haunting eyes of this Hollywood stud are enough to get most any chick’s motor running.

So, if you’ve found yourself in love with all things Robert Pattinson, perhaps it’s time that you check out his work before the Twilight series. Like all other successful actors, this young hunk has worked his way up from small roles to mega blockbuster motion pictures. Here are a few lesser known on the list of films Robert Pattinson has appeared in.

Vanity Fair

Released in 2004 and starring Reese Witherspoon, this film follows the life of Becky Sharpe, a one-time orphan turned British governess. Sharp works hard to climb the social ladder amidst the mad reign of Napoleon. The movie continues for follow Witherspoon’s character for nearly twenty years, weaving a maze of friendship, heart break, rivalries and love triangles.

Mr. Robert Pattinson plays an older version of Sharp’s son, Rowden “Rawdy” Crawley, Jr. His role is uncredited in most versions of the film and many of his scenes are only available for viewing through the “Deleted Scenes” special feature on the movie’s DVD.

The Haunted Airman

Based on the 1948 psychological thriller novel The Haunting of Toby Jugg, this made-for-TV British Broadcasting Company production debuted in the fall of 2006. The film is about Toby Jugg, a young man that inherits his grandfather’s business only to be shot in the back shortly while participating in a military air raid. Jugg is partially paralyzed and condemned to a wheelchair due to the injury. He is sent to a facility to recover, where he begins hallucinating, seeing images that he considers to be Satan himself.

Quite fittingly, Pattinson plays the role of the lead character, Toby Jugg.

The Bad Mother’s Handbook

Yet another best-selling novel turned made-for-TV movie, The Bad Mother’s Handbook depicts the lives of three very different women, who just so happen to be related: the grandmother, who is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, her daughter, who is currently experiencing an identity crisis of sorts, and the smart yet pubescent granddaughter. The film was originally aired on the British network, ITV, in 2007.

Robert Pattinson serves as a co-star in this movie, playing the nerdy yet hilarious family friend, Daniel Gale.

How to Be

An independently produced comedic drama, How to Be takes a look at a disenchanted young man, Art, and his attempt to pull his life together. Art works a crappy job, has no specific talents and earned an education that he simply doesn’t care to use. Things begin to take a turn for the better when his girlfriend dumps him and the young man dives into a self help book, becoming somewhat obsessed with the book’s author.

The lead character, Art, is played by none other than Robert Pattinson.
