“I wanted to make it really special on Valentine’s Day, so I tied my boyfriend up. And, for three solid hours, I watch whatever I wanted on TV.” ~ Tracy Smith
Some people assume that SheNOW‘s dislike of Valentine’s Day stems from Singledom……but they’d be wrong! Whether single or not, very few of us actually ‘celebrate’ the little fat baby and his misguided arrows.
Any holiday that, at its core, is designed to sell cards, flowers and chocolates to the “Party of Two” while attempting to make the “Ohhh…all alone this evening” feel bad about themselves makes us say, “Baaaaaa Humbug!”
Things To Do on Valentine’s Day With Your Friends— > Whether You’re Single or Not!
Host An Anti-Valentine’s Day Dinner
– It’s easy, and a great girl’s night experience!
A) Each friend should choose an item of food to prepare that goes with the main course of your choosing (which you will provide).
B) Everyone arrives at your place around the same time.
C) Open a couple bottles of wine.
D) Turn on some fun music.
E) Everyone cooks all of their sides/food together.
F) We promise it will be one of the most memorable Valentine’s dinners ever – complete with dancing, laughter, girl talk and fun!
Plan a Movie Fest
A) Tell each friend to bring some sort of unhealthy snack. We’re talking chocolate, popcorn, ice cream, etc.
B) Grab blankets, pillows and gather in your living room.
C) Don’t watch “love” or “romance” movies. Instead opt for a comedy or maybe movies from when you were kids. How about an 80’s classic or a strong Girl Power film?!
D) Get ready for laughter, good friends and a night to remember.
Spoil Yourselves Rotten
– Why not treat yourself as kindly as you treat others?
A) Get the girls together and meet at a local Spa.
B) Sit and gossip with a glass of wine while enjoying a Mani and a Pedi? Yes, please!
C) What about facials, massages and masks, oh my!
D) Get creative and relax. You Deserve It!
Take on the Town
– Don’t want to stay in? Get the girls together and take over the town!
A) Get dressed up ….you sexy thang!
B) Meet the girls at a martini, wine or champagne bar. Cheers to your awesome-ness!
C) Head out on the town. Maybe it’s a bar hopping kind of night?
D) Maybe Dancing?
E) What about a sporting event, comedy club, dueling piano bar, etc?
F) Who knows where you will end up! Get out and show the world how fabulous you all are!
