When asked for referrals, yes it is important to list people who have nice things to say about you, but there is more to it. You are your biggest referral! No one knows you better than you do. You are the very spitting image of yourself! In today’s world everything you do or say is more times than not being recorded. I bet you didn’t know the average person is videotaped at least 36 times a day. Everything you say on the internet is saved into its history forever. Every post you make on Facebook is always going to be there.

Remember all those drunken photos of you posted on your Facebook? Yes they can see those. Getting the idea now? You are your own referral if you can leave a good image of yourself online then others will see that. I am always continually working to improve my search results on Google.
There are an endless amount of things you can do to leave a good footprint of yourself. Just by writing this article I am improving my look on search results. Posting videos on YouTube, creating a LinkedIn account, creating a Google Plus Page, are just a few things that you can do to help your image out. If you’re looking to get noticed, or want to be found, or simply trying to get that dream job, become your own best referral. Don’t let a photo or post of you get in the way of your dream.
