I had my first child in 2007, my second child in 2009, and my third child in 2011. I started this journey into motherhood completely clueless, feeling like a deer in the headlights standing in the hospital’s labor and delivery ward. Over the years, however, I have learned a few things, including the products that are an absolute must have for newborns.
Earth Mama Angel Baby Shampoo and Body Wash
When I had my first child, I just used whatever shampoo and soap that was on sale, but shortly after my second child was born, I began learning about the toxic ingredients found in many baby shampoos. After doing a lot of research, I switched to a natural, organic baby shampoo. Earth Mama Angel Baby Shampoo and Body Wash not only smells amazing (like orange creamsicles) but it’s toxin-free and safe for my little ones. When my third child was born, I even brought a bottle with me to the hospital for her first bath! I can proudly say that my youngest child has only ever used Earth Mama Angel Baby Shampoo and Body Wash and has never been exposed to a single toxic mystery ingredient like those found in most leading brand baby shampoos.
I first became interested in babywearing when my second child was born. I found myself struggling to manage two children, a toddler and a newborn, when I was out running errands. Out of desperation, I turned to baby carriers for help. I started babywearing with my son when her was around three-months-old. When he was nine-months-old though, I discovered a new carrier, the Moby Wrap, that I absolutely fell in love with. The Moby Wrap is by far my favorite baby carrier for newborns. It has a bit of a learning curve, but once you practice a little, it’s easy! The Moby Wrap made running errands easy, but it also kept my daughter comfortable and close to my chest. Not only was it easy on my back and comfortable for my daughter, but I could breastfeed her discreetly in the Moby Wrap without the use of a shawl or cover-up.
Wellements Gripe Water
Nothing can be more heartbreaking than an itty bitty baby who can’t be consoled. When I had my first child, I discovered Wellements Gripe Water. Nothing cured my daughter’s gas and colic quicker than gripe water did. It worked and I continued using it for each of my other two children as well. Gripe water is not only natural, but it’s made with organic ingredients to help treat gas and colic naturally, without the use of chemicals and medications.
