‘Tighten Up’: Five of the Best Songs by the Black Keys Yet

by pop tug

The Black Keys is a two-man rock group from Akron, Ohio, that has been creating major waves in the indie music scene and beyond. Their sound is raw, deep, and completely original, and upon first listen I was completely blown away. Here is a look at five of their best songs yet, and a look at why they are not fading from the horizon any time soon.

“Your Touch”

The first song I ever heard by the Black Keys was “Your Touch.” I was blown away by this edgy, alluring sound that was running rampant with sex appeal. Their sound is raw and original, and there is not a dull moment in this track. This is the song that convinced me to check out some of the Black Keys other tracks and I am so glad that I did.

“Midnight in Her Eyes”

Another song that caught my attention is “Midnight in Her Eyes.” The song is catchy, has a great story to it, and the sound is completely original. When I listen to the Black Keys, I cannot compare them to any other band or musical group. They have managed to break the mold when it comes to their sound and presentation.

“Tighten Up”

“Tighten Up” is a completely unique and energetic song that garnered the Black Keys a considerable amount of attention, and for good reason. There is not a moment from beginning to end where this song doesn’t have my full, undivided attention. Complete with guitar riffs, whistling and deep, edgy vocals, “Tighten Up” will remain one of the best Black Keys songs for quite some time.

“Psychotic Girl”

Another song by the Black Keys that caught my attention and refused to let go is “Psychotic Girl.” This song has a dark vibe to it, in all manners of speaking. From the lyrics to the melody, “Psychotic Girl” invokes unsettling feelings of danger and harm lurking in the distance. “Psychotic Girl” is an amazing song and is certainly among the best that the Black Keys has to offer.

“Howling For You”

Last, but certainly not least, is the Black Keys song “Howling For You.” The words edgy, dangerous and catchy simply aren’t enough to describe the vibe felt in this song. “Howling For You” is one of my favorite Black Keys songs and it truly shows the band’s talent at its finest level.
