TNA Turning Point pay-per-view
Bound for Glory was one of the greatest wrestling pay-per-views in recent memory. TNA will be looking to continue its momentum from last month’s pay-per-view with Turning Point on Sunday. Two Turning Point matches involve Aces and Eights and half the matches feature title defenses.
Take a closer look at my predictions for TNA Turning Point 2012.
DOC vs. Joseph Park
TNA wants us to believe that Joseph “Abyss” Parker is not a wrestler. So this Turning Point match has to be short and not pretty. It presents a perfect opportunity for an Aces and Eights run-in and disqualification.
Prediction: Joseph Park defeats DOC
Tara and Jesse vs. ODB and Eric Young
I’m not a big fan of comedy wrestlers, but Eric Young is hilarious. There’s no telling what he has in store for Tara and Jesse at Turning Point. I predict the TNA fans will be pleased with Eric’s antics and the outcome.
Prediction: ODB and Eric Young defeat Tara and Jesse
Joey Ryan vs. Rob Van Dam (TNA X Division Championship)
It’s hard to imagine Joey Ryan becoming X Division Champion so soon after earning a TNA contract. There is a precedent for early championship reigns, but I predict this will not happen at RVD’s expense at Turning Point.
Prediction: Rob Van Dam defeats Joey Ryan
Magnus vs. Samoa Joe (TNA Television Championship)
I predicted that Magnus would defeat Samoa Joe for the TNA Television Championship at Bound for Glory and I was wrong. However, I believe Samoa Joe’s win simply delayed the inevitable until Turning Point.
Prediction: Magnus defeats Samoa Joe
Devon vs. Kurt Angle
Wrestling fans hate run-ins at pay-per-views so there won’t be more than one. TNA fans pay hard-earned money to see Kurt Angle wrestle and they will get their wish at Turning Point.
Prediction: Kurt Angle defeats Devon
Christopher Daniels and Kazarian vs. Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez (TNA Tag Team Championship)
Daniels and Kazarian have been outstanding since breaking free of the Claire Lynch angle. The TNA love fest with Chavo Guerrero is waning and I predict the former champions will reclaim their titles at Turning Point.
Prediction: Christopher Daniels and Kazarian defeat Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez
Bobby Roode vs. James Storm vs. AJ Styles
Predicting the winner of this match is based in large part on correctly predicting the outcome of the TNA World Heavyweight Championship match. Turning Point will see Bobby Roode get another major push.
Prediction: Bobby Roode defeats James Storm and AJ Styles
Austin Aries vs. Jeff Hardy (TNA World Heavyweight Championship)
This Turning Point match is setting up as a perfect “bait and switch” for Austin Aries. But I can’t see TNA creating a new belt just so Jeff Hardy can drop it one month later at Turning Point.
Prediction: Jeff Hardy defeats Austin Aries
