When you’re planning a cruise to or around Europe, don’t miss the chance to explore some of the major cities, tourist attractions, and key points of interest. When the ship is docked at cruise ports in Italy, Spain, France, or the United Kingdom, head off on a guided tour of the nearest town or city to enjoy some delicious food, explore some charming neighborhoods, and even do a little shopping.

Here are ten tours to take when you’re going on a European cruise vacation:

#1: Marseille Sightseeing Tour

When the cruise stops at Marseille, the largest port in France and also the country’s second largest city, head off on a guided tour of this harbor town to visit some museums, take pictures of the historic churches, and sample some of the finest seafood in the region.

When your cruise stops in Dover, take a short bus ride or taxi to London so you can go on a city tour. Visit Kensington Gardens, shop on Oxford Street, and make your way to Big Ben and the Tower of London. You can also spend a few hours visiting the famous white cliffs of Dover along the English Channel.

The charming cafes and regal architecture around St. Petersburg are a major draw for tourists. Take a guided tour to see St. Isaac’s Cathedral, take a boat ride down the canals, and explore some historic museums and art galleries.
