Are you getting ready to plan your tween’s next birthday party? Have you decided on a party theme yet? If not, you may want to contemplate going with a truth or dare theme. Based on my experience, it is a theme that tends to go over well with the kids. There are also a multitude of party favors that would work with such a theme. Here’s a brief rundown on a handful of them:
The game truth or dare is all about testing boundaries. As such, you may want to consider giving your guests an assortment of gross looking edibles. Great options include Crickets Snack Packs, chocolate covered insects, scorpion suckers and Tower of Sour Liquid Candy Urine. One company that carries a large assortment of funky looking treats is Candy Warehouse. Depending on your selection, prices for the candies typically range from $10 to $40 a case.
Truth or Dare Buttons
Do you consider yourself the crafty type? If so, I’d suggest making a series of truth or dare buttons for your guests. You could design the buttons any way you like. Sayings to consider using on your buttons include “I Survived Truth or Dare” or “Go Ahead, Dare Me.” You can typically purchase Design-a-Buttons Kits through select craft stores like Hobby Lobby for less than $2 each. Each kit usually comes with the supplies needed to make a trio of 3.5 inch buttons.
Sports Water Bottles
Customized, sports water bottles would make suitable party favors as well. I would suggest that you consider purchasing the sports water bottles in bulk through a promotional marketing company. That way, you could have each bottle embossed with the words “Truth or Dare” and your child’s birthday information. Prices for the bottles will vary based on the retailer. One company that I always liked to use during my party planning days was Cal-Ideas, Inc. The company is based in Pennsylvania and sells a variety of promotional items.
Depending on your budget, you may also want to think about giving your party guests customized, truth or dare t-shirts. You could opt to purchase customized t-shirts through a specialty retailer or make your own. If you do decide to make your own t-shirts, I’d suggest using quick-drying fabric pens or iron on transfers to get the job done. They are often two of the easiest methods to customize t-shirts at home. Other customization options include embroidery, tie-dye, silk screening and fabric paints.
