Veterans Day 2012 is on November 11, 2012. This means that Veterans Day is right around the corner, and businesses are preparing to say thank you to all of us veterans. Businesses treat veterans to a number of discounts on meals, and others offer free meals to all veterans. Veterans Day is not about the free food for us veterans that once told our fellow countrymen that we will give up our lives to keep them free.
Veterans Day is for us veterans to say thank you to each other, but also to have corporate America to say thank you for your sacrifice as well. This is why I want to let my fellow veterans know what is going on in 2012 for Veterans Day. These business offer free food to all Veterans, and some offer a discount all year long.
Applebee’s: Applebee’s is offering another free meal this year on Veterans Day. All you need is a military ID, VA ID, of a DD 214 to show your military service. The food at Applebee’s is always good, but the one thing I must say I like about this meal at Applebee’s the most is that you can talk to fellow veterans.
Texas Roadhouse: I called Texas Roadhouse and was told that they are unaware of what they are offering this year, but was informed that veterans get a ten percent discount year round. This shows appreciation to veterans year round. This is a good deal for veterans looking to enjoy a nice steak at a good restaurant anytime of the year.
Dunkin Doughnuts: Dunkin Doughnuts in some locations will give a veteran a ten percent discount if they ask for it anytime during the year. Some employees ask for ID, while others will give it to you as long as you ask. Proper ID includes a Military ID, VA ID, or a DD 214.
Chili’s: Chili’s is offering a free meal for all Veterans this Veterans Day. Chili’s is another good choice, because it has a good atmosphere, and great food. So why not in to Chili’s and enjoy a good meal with your fellow veterans.
Denny’s: Denny’s is offering Active Duty and Retired military personal free all-you-can eats pancakes on Veterans Day. Some come enjoy a free breakfast before enjoying a free lunch at a number of different restaurants.
Golden Coral: Golden Coral offers up a buffet meal for all veterans every year, but offers it on the Monday following Veterans Day. This means this year the free meal will be November 12, 2012. Golden Coral says that they do not want to share veterans with other restaurants, and for this reason separates itself from the other restaurants.
If you’re looking for a fun outing on Veterans Day check out a state park. The state parks offer a free weekend for veterans to enjoy the great outdoors. So find a state park in your area and stop on in.
From one veteran to another thank you for your service to this great country.
