The Cliff House at Pikes Peak is located at 306 Canon Avenue in the wonderful little town of Manitou Springs, Colorado. The Cliff House is open year-round providing fine dining and cozy bed and breakfast-like accommodations. Whether you are interested in a cup of hot chocolate out on the veranda, or a full meal the staff always pleases. Each room at The Cliff House is appointed with antiques and one-of-a-kind items such as ever changing seasonal decorations, with the bathrooms having heated toilet seats making a stay in the autumn or winter fun and cozy! On the main floor just off the entrance there is a sitting room with a piano and fireplace for your quiet enjoyment and the walls are lined with charming pictures explaining the history of The Cliff House.
Options for dining include the Red Mountain Bar and Grill featuring large screen TV’s and second story outdoor seating with a fire-pit. There is a formal dining area that provides a full breakfast which includes every item you can think of, always freshly prepared. Then, this same dining area transforms after the complimentary breakfast, and serves many individually prepared lunch and dinner options. This writer would recommend reservations for dinner although they do try to fit everyone in without much of a wait. Veranda dining is my favorite especially in the cooler months with a special menu available for all who wish to sit and view the mountains.
On one visit I watched a snow storm coming slowly over the mountains while sipping warm after-dinner cocktails on the veranda…so memorable.
The Cliff House is located a block off the main streets of Manitou Springs providing a fun walk to many specialty shops including a Dulcimer shop that is wonderful to tour! Manitou Springs is also home to the cliff-dwellings of the Anasazi Indians, Pikes Peak, the Pikes Peak Cog-Wheel Train (which is a ride you won’t easily forget!), the Garden of the Gods, and so much more making the area great for romance or a family get-away.
There are rooms for any size group, including conference rooms, banquet rooms, as well as packages for every event from reunions to weddings. The greatest part of this whole situation is that the rooms and dining features are very affordable.
Check out the website www.thecliffhouse.com, scroll through all the features offered for your enjoyment, and decide just how decadent of a stay you might want! I have opted for wine and fruit in my room and found it sitting there chilled, waiting patiently for me to arrive and enjoy! I have also called for last minute reservations and found everything equally as cozy. (Don’t forget the heated toilet,–it is just so different!)
So, dear readers, my recommendation is to visit the web site, call for information at 719-685-3000, or do whatever you have to make sure you spend time at The Cliff House of Pikes Peak in Manitou Springs, Colorado. This is a place you will want to return to again and again, never to be disappointed!
