Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Raymond James Stadium Considered Best in NFL
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers also known as the “Bucs” play at the Raymond James Stadium. Some of the stadium’s unique features along with its upbeat environment provide fans with an exceptional experience when attending a game. See the Raymond James Stadium seating chart for more information about tickets for a Bucs game.
Inside the stadium, the team plays on a natural grass playing field. The facility is shared with the University of South Florida. In addition, each year the Raymond James Stadium hosts the Outback Bowl on New Year’s Day. The facility has been rated as one of the best in the league by the NFL Players Association.
After entering Raymond James Stadium visitors are often in awe of the pirate ship that is harbored at Buccaneer Cove at the north end of the field. The ship is said to belong to the team’s mascot, Captain Fear. When touchdown or field goal is scored the ship comes to life shooting off cannons. Three shots are fired for field goals and seven for touchdowns.
An animatronic parrot is on the ship’s stern and talks to guests as they pass by the bird’s perch. The controls allow the operator located in another area of the stadium to pick out specific people in the crowd for personalized interactions with the parrot. The pirate ship was designed by the same company that makes props for nearby Walt Disney World.
Adjacent to the ship is a pirate village. The area includes storefronts and concessions where fans can visit during a game. The ship itself is closed to the public during games, but is available for rental for private events. The south end zone is also designed as an area for fans to stand to watch the game. Each of these coves is designed to be a fan friendly area in the stadium.
When the Buccaneers enter the visiting team’s red zone flags are hoisted around the upper deck of the stadium. Also, throughout the game the song “Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirate’s Life for Me” is played over the stadium’s speakers.
The stadium concessions offer a variety of options to satisfy any fan’s taste buds. Some favorites are the pressed Cuban sandwiches, Garlic Parmesan French Fries and the Carved Turkey Club Sandwich. Another favorite is the ARRR! Foot Long Hot Dog. Fans also enjoy the Tampa Dog that is a jalapeno chili cheese dog.
A budget friendly concession option for fans is purchasing a bottomless soft drink or bottomless popcorn. The stadium also has the distinction of selling some of the cheapest beer in the NFL.
Single game tickets range start at $28 for seats in the family section where no alcohol or profanity are allowed. The highest level single game tickets are sold for $393. Tickets are available for purchase through the team’s website and Ticketmaster.
Despite the team’s recent records, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers play at one of the NFL’s top stadiums. The Raymond James Stadium continues to provide fans with an exciting game day experience.
