There are not many times in wrestling history that I have found myself saying this, but I hope that The Big Show keeps his World Heavyweight Championship until at least the Royal Rumble. I like the Big Show, but I despise how the WWE portrays him. Over most of his career he has been the lovable giant or the oversized joker in the crowd. Rarely have we been treated to the big mean Giant that can take out opponents with one punch. Now that we have him, I would love to keep him around for a bit. The Big Show is a great champion when he is booked as an unstoppable force with a mean streak. Though they are not getting that totally right at the moment, they are getting a good bit of it right. The Royal Rumble would be incredibly entertaining if he has a fresh feud with an up and coming champion. Here are a few guys that would fit the bill nicely:
Dolph Ziggler – Ziggler is the obvious choice and would make a great opponent for the Big Show. In fact, if the WWE played it right with his split from Vickie Guererro, Ziggler could turn face. The bottom line is that Ziggler is due for his run with the title and the Royal Rumble would be a great place to do it.
Cody Rhodes – Many have forgotten him but I think he is the best young star in the WWE today. Perhaps he could have a great feud with the Big Show for the title. They have history and Cody is overdue.
Ryback – Most people expect that the Rock and C.M. Punk will feud over the WWE title at the Royal Rumble, so that leaves Ryback looking for some action. Who better than the Big Show to give it to him? Ryback could be a great opponent and that would certainly be a great draw. Imagine Ryback trying to shell shock The Big Show. That would never happen but it would be hilarious to watch him try.
Wade Barrett – This is one guy that has World Champion written all over him. He has the size, strength and ability to beat anybody on the roster. The truth is, Barrett could carry the strap and look the part that the WWE wants from their champion.
The Miz – That is correct. It is time for the Miz to once again take on the main event. I am a huge Miz fan and will always hope for his return to main event status. He would be an excellent choice to take on Big Show and his recent face turn would only help that.
